Resumen del Editor

This audiobook offers a clear, concise account of the Eightfold Path prescribed to uproot and eliminate the deep underlying cause of suffering—ignorance.

Each step of the path is believed to cultivate wisdom through mental training, and includes an enlightened and peaceful middle path that avoids extremes. The theoretical as well as practical angles of each of the paths—right view, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration—are illustrated through examples from contemporary life.

The work's final chapter addresses the Buddhist path and its culmination in enlightenment.

Performance average. Maybe flat on purpose.

Content good and presentation average. Exhaustively systematic as Buddhism is at its core! Next read Huxley's "The Perennial Philosophy".

Simplified Version of Do's and Don'ts for Path

Bhikku Bodhi's work is legendary. The translations are perfect and give clear direction of do's and don'ts within the 8 fold noble path. Thank you for your great work!

Very clear and concise breakdown of the 8fold path

This was a profoundly insightful book about The immense Wisdom Contained within 1 of the Buddha's Foundational teachings. i highly recommend this for an intermediate Practitioner of Buddhism Because some of the Expansive technical breakdown can be a bit overwhelming for a novice. I will definitely be reading this book Many times over and Will use Some of the references to further study. I am eternally grateful for Bhukku Bodhi And the work he has put in to Share The knowledge of the Buddha. a++ 10/10

Reading is very lifeless

Unfortunately the narrator is just reading, not voice acting, so it's a very dull listen. I'm finding it incredibly difficult to follow because of this, and considering asking for a refund.

A difficult guide

personally I found this text inaccessible. it was for want of a better word verbose. The narrator was clear but it felt as if she was just reading words.

I couldn’t finish due to the voice actor

I think the book itself is good but the voice actor has some kind of purposeful accent that seems to be trying to be macho and authoritative (trying to make her voice deeper on purpose), and this kind of affect of purposely pronouncing things weird. Like she’s trying to sound all Eastern-y instead of just speaking normally. It is extremely distracting. I tried powering through it several times just to get the author’s message but kept getting distracted by her pretentious accent. It’s like those fonts that look like Chinese brush strokes that they use on parody kung fu movies, except verbally. I wish I could just get a computer to read it instead. Her voice acting is so corny. It seems to have so much to do with her ego and how she’s this big tough lady who knows all about how to pronounce “Buddha” and “kamma” the REAL way, and also lets that affect spread into her pronunciation of other words needlessly too whenever she feels like it. Even though it’s clear she’s capable of speaking normal standard English and doesn’t have an accent, she just chooses to. That’s called being pretentious or affected. If the author picked this lady to make the book sound “mystical” and “Eastern” then I have to say I’m not too impressed. I think the content of the Buddha’s teachings is all I need not someone virtually dressing as a samurai and hamming it up. Just awful.
