Publisher's summary

Well, when the universe slams a car door on your boob, somewhere a cannibal opens a window. Or...something like that.

Messina, Noah, and I headed off to Chicago for a little TLC involving "stumping" some vampires. While in the Windy City, the cannibals blew back into our path, and everything started going downhill from there. A rest-stop massacre, Stacks' penchant for getting his ass in a sling, a drunk witch armed with a tube of cookie dough, firebombing explosions, Tom Waits, a hunter dive bar, demonic kid hitchhikers, throwing bodies in dumpsters, and run-ins with two of my exes.

Not to mention a demon party in Ohio that I'm just itching to crash. Well, if you're going to shoot, shoot to thrill.

Still good but ...

... getting kind of annoyed at the MFC always running off without prep. Mind you, the overall story is interesting and I can't stop listening. But damn. She is still making mistakes that risk others. Hunting down the vamps in Chicago is a perfect example.

Instead of taking the time to make sure they have the weapons and tools they need, Bane steamrolls Noah into going in undercover unprepared. She says she has a GPS tracker which is important since he'll be undercover and out of her sight with a group of blood suckers. But when the GPS disc is corroded, and the hand held device almost out of battery power, she doesn't even pause to get that cleaned up and recharged. She just shoves the disc at Noah and sends him off. Of course the hand held unit goes dead and it's pure luck that she finds him. There was no reason for that to happen.. I know she's got a deadline but damn. How about some consideration for the guy risking his life to help you?
