Publisher's summary

Despite the progress we have made, women are still faced with discrimination and bias in the workplace every day. The only way to prove our capabilities is to be great leaders!

Women have more challenges when it comes to leadership roles with gender bias being one of the biggest hurdles.

Women are either seen as dainty, proper ladies who are too quiet to lead or as the other extreme: bossy, aggressive, and unladylike.

Consequently, while women have the skills and qualifications to lead, it’s still the men who are more likely to be offered opportunities.

Now, we can talk for days about the glass ceiling and how unfair the gender gap is without really achieving anything or we can do something about it.

This audiobook will give you the tools and skills you need to excel as a leader and show others how effective women can be. Here is just a fraction of what you will discover:

  • Exactly why the world needs more female leaders and what is holding women back
  • Fourteen leadership styles and how to discover the best one that fits your personality
  • The real reasons why women fear leadership and four ways to calm the anxiety
  • How to overcome imposter syndrome and break the cycle of self-doubt
  • Seven hard skills that you can gain today to demonstrate your leadership qualifications
  • Ten steps to boost communication and three bonus steps for getting your point across
  • How you can increase your income through emotional intelligence
  • The benefits of diversity for all companies—and it’s not just about women!
  • How to create a workplace culture with a growth mindset and eliminate the toxic environment

Great book

The book exceeded my expectations for many reasons. I love the choice of female leader examples chosen in this book, I felt empowered, and I want to be the leader I am meant to become. As a woman of color, I loved how the author shed light on the challenges and inequalities female leaders. Each chapter has a summary that allows for reflection. My favorite chapters were overcoming fear and self-doubt, finding your voice and making it heard, diverse environment. Will recommend!!!

Amazing!

One of the things I appreciated most about this book was its focus on the diverse range of leadership styles that exist. The author does an excellent job of breaking down 14 different styles and explaining how they can be used to create an effective and inclusive workplace. I particularly enjoyed learning about the transformational leadership style, which emphasizes empathy, inspiration, and a shared vision. Throughout the book, the author also provides numerous practical tips and techniques for creating a positive work environment. From fostering open communication to promoting a culture of trust and respect, I found these suggestions to be incredibly valuable.

Praising yourself is okay

I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. It provides a lot of useful advice and encouragement on female leadership. There's information shared here on the different types of leadership style and how to adapt or be more aware of others. It's important to stay true to yourself but self awareness/ individuality, empathy for others, and how to manage your feelings in certain situations are mentioned in this book. This is a good self help book to listen to on the road when you're driving to work, when you're having a rough day, or even pump yourself up prior to an interview or having conversations with your boss or subordinates. Good listen.

Inspiring

The narrator's tone is one of empowerment and ledearship toward the listener in most of the chapters. The author uses great examples of the challenges faced by woman leaders in history with whom we still identify in one way or another. She identifies the stereotype used against women and provides strategies to deal with such situations. Is a great book to improve leadership skills from the perspective of a woman who is climbing professionally in her workplace to the way she projects herself on a daily basis.

A book meant for me

This book is in-depth, fascinating, and highly thorough, a book meant for me. I've done listening, yet I'm not going to stop learning and absorbing the rich information. There is so much encouragement and it just dawns that we are so endowed and full of gifts and abilities we probably never knew we possessed. I've started to undo a lot of things and change the way I speak and think. This is the book every woman should get and listen to over and over, and every man who has a woman in their lives should listen too. It’s time for us women to lead. We are meant to lead.

This book is an easy read but powerful enough to make you want to re-read it. Definitely a must read for any level of leadership and career growth.

Let's stand strong

I absolutely adored this empowering and inspiring listen. It is unfortunate that in this day and age we are still trying to promote gender equality, particularly in the work force. This book encourages women from all walks of life to step into their power and beat the stereotypes that consume our society. It is a listen that you will want to return to in moments of uncertainty. A motivating piece to drive us women forward and up, and to lead with passion and confidence.
