Publisher's summary

Gravesend 1920. A famous mystery writer, while searching through the remains of a damaged church looking for story ideas, happens upon a document that was never meant to be found or read. Any knowledge of its contents could change the terms of the treaty that ended the First World War. There is also a change in the hand that writes and records the cases of Sherlock Holmes.

Different

Sherlock Holmes and the mystery writer.
This is a new Holmes story. Told differently but very entertaining.
A female Watson and a Holmes that hasn't changed. Actually it's more of a Watson story.
Definitely one of the better modern versions of Sherlock Holmes.

No, no, no

didn't like it period, narrator ( he or she) poor, unreal sounding, hard to follow the story line with that voice.

Interesting premise

I liked the premise. The plot was a bit thin... it very much went with assertions about characters rather than developing them. Also, despite the title, I didn’t really find the mystery writer played a role in the story.

The narrator was a very poor fit. Having a man narrate in falsetto for the female point of view of the book was just more than annoying... I almost gave up.

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for a review.
