Sherlockian Logic Keeps Us Riveted

The stories I have heard before but are well chosen. Only the last was unfamiliar but enjoyed thoroughly. The narration was first rate except for an occasional difficulty in distinguishing which character was speaking. The emotional message and excitement carried the day. It is definitely worth a listen.

Nobody does it better!

Any additional comments?

I have many versions of Sherlock Holmes in my audio library, but Derek Jacobi is the perfect narrator! This is one version that I listen to over and over.

Quite charming and original.

Even though the stories follow the same general formula, they still manage to have some individuality from the next, leaving you wanting more especially in the adventure of The Cornish Horror.

A Perfect Pair

If you could sum up Sherlock Holmes: His Last Bow in three words, what would they be?

a fun escape

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

It's short stories that I know well, so no, not on the edge of my seat.

Which scene was your favorite?

N/A

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but instead I listened to it to and from work.

Any additional comments?

I love Derek Jacobi's voice and reading of anything. I love Sherlock Holmes. So they are the perfect pair.

Holmes read by Jacobi: What more needs to be said?

The greatest series of Btitish detective stories read by one of the greatest British actors can only mean great succcess. This late collection of Sherlock Holmes tales is given the royal treatment by Sir Derek. Even for those, like myself, who have read and reread the collection, hearing it in Jacobi's splendid voice makes it sound brand new again. I highly recommend.

Brilliant

You know Sherlock Holmes. You've seen adaptations on TV, you know his stories. But, listening/reading the books is just wonderful. By reading, you gain a deeper understanding of Holmes, of Watson, of Victorian England and Derek Jacobi is an amazing narrator. He is perfect for the job. Also, by reading some of the books you get the added bonus of the second part of the story which gives you the background to the current case. So even though you may be familiar with the stories, have a listen and instead of being preoccupied with 'who done it' (cos you probably know already), enjoy the journey and allow Holmes to lead you there in his own unique way.

Good Audiobook

Story was great as ever and told by a brilliant narrator. The only thing is some of the recordings for each chapter are a bit mixed up - there was a couple of times where two chapters were recorded in one chapter with no recording for the next (as it was already in the chapter before).
