Publisher's Summary
Welcome back to Virgin River with the books that inspired the hit Netflix series....
John “Preacher” Middleton is closing Jack’s Bar when a woman and her young son come in out of the wet night. A marine who has seen his share of pain, Preacher knows a crisis when he sees one - the woman is covered in bruises. He wants to protect them, and to punish whoever did this, but he knows immediately that this is more than just instinct. Paige Lassiter has stirred up emotions in this gentle giant of a man - emotions that he has never allowed himself to feel.
Then Paige’s ex-husband turns up in Virgin River. And if there’s one thing the marines’ motto of Semper Fidelis - always faithful - has taught Preacher, it’s that some things are worth fighting for.

Cheap and predictable
I thought the book was closer to the TV series called Virgin River, but I was disappointed. The characters are idealized. The story sounds like the author’s dream, her Cinderella story. I couldn’t even finish it. I stopped at the sex scene between Preacher and Paige. Completely unnecessary! I did not sign up for reading porn. I would not recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book more than the first!
I really liked the continuation of all the characters and how this book builds off of Virgin River, the first book of the series. Preacher and Paige are the featured love story, but so much happens to the other members of the town. I look forward to reading more of this series!

Not believable.
I found myself wondering off in my mind mainly because the main characters were not believable. Plus there was the issue with the prem babies that felt awkward and clumsy.
