NOW A PRIME VIDEO SERIES from internationally bestselling author Harlan Coben

Mickey Bolitar's year can't get much worse. After witnessing his father's death and sending his mom to rehab, he's forced to live with his estranged uncle Myron and switch high schools.

A new school comes with new friends and new enemies, and lucky for Mickey, it also comes with a great new girlfriend, Ashley. For a while, it seems like Mickey's train-wreck of a life is finally improving—until Ashley vanishes without a trace. Unwilling to let another person walk out of his life, Mickey follows Ashley's trail into a seedy underworld that reveals that this seemingly sweet, shy girl isn't who she claimed to be. And neither was Mickey's father. Soon, Mickey learns about a conspiracy so shocking that it makes high school drama seem like a luxury—and leaves him questioning everything about the life he thought he knew.

First introduced to readers in Harlan Coben's adult novel, Live Wire, Mickey Bolitar is as quick-witted and clever as his uncle Myron, and eager to go to any length to save the people he cares about. With this series, Coben introduces an entirely new generation of fans to the masterful plotting and wry humor that have made him an award-winning, internationally bestselling, and beloved author.

What did you like best about Shelter? What did you like least?

Not the best effort from Coben, but as a long time reader of his books, it is interesting to see the development of his story and characters over time. The reader must read the books in sequence to understand this.

Was Shelter worth the listening time?

It was OK.

It’s marked as a book for young listeners, I thought I would take a chance. As usual, Harlan Coben does not disappoint. Never felt for one sentence that. I was too old for the book.

If you’re debating whether to take a chance, don’t hesitate to push the button. You won’t be disappointed

Many Twists and suspense

As I was listening to this book and they describe the butterfly and the Abeona shelter I thought this is a lot like what happens in the book Win that I just recently finished. I believe many years are between the two books but I would love to talk to the author about what he was thinking. Because in the book Win it was his sister that started this shelter for children that were abused. But in this story it has a much different meaning started by a Holocaust survivor. The performer did a great job reading the different parts it was very entertaining and the story was well done. I just wish the author would have kept the story more in line with his more recent book Win. Maybe he thought people wouldn't be reading both.

For young people and older
