Publisher's summary

On the fringes of human space, a murder will light a fuse and send two different people colliding together. He’s a 30-year veteran of military operations; she’s the youngest daughter of a wealthy business family. Both used roundabout means to become detectives. She’s smart; he’s tactical. Now they need to learn from each other. Mix in a very early high-budget R&D AI created by the Military, and we might have a problem for those trying to hide from justice.

Two years ago, a small moon in a far-off system was set to be the location of the first intergalactic war between humans and an alien race. It never happened. However, something was found many are willing to kill to keep a secret. Now, they have killed the wrong people. How many will need to die to keep the truth hidden? As many as needed. He will have vengeance no matter the cost; she will dig for the truth no matter the risk.

Enjoyable

I found this one to be rather enjoyable, Jia and Eric complement each other rather than compete against each other. I find that makes the story so much better. Moving on to the next one.

Feel like the authors guna try an drag this out...

I really like this series so far and like the world building and our 2 main characters but what i noticed in this book is that there wasnt much progress made in the main quest about his murdered squad. First off its taken him forever to even let his partner in on things. Like i said i really do like this series but its kina starting to get on my nerves the way it seems hes trying to drag things out with a bunch of filler and stall tactics. Im not guna keep spending my money on a bunch of money grab filler books waiting to get to the main action. Dont get me wrong im fine following along as long as theres some meaningful plot points in the meantime like in the last book or at least SOME progress so we feel like we're gaining some information and getting closer to knowing somewhat of ehat happened but we didnt really get any of that in this book. And i was kina annoyed it took him pretty much the entire book to let his partner in on his main reason for being there. Im going to get the next book but if things keep going the way they did in this book ima prolly give it up. Especially if they dont get together. Its obvious they like each other and its guna happen eventually but i feel like alot of authors waste alot of time that could be spent exploring and strengthening a romance by trying to drag things out too long. Im down for a good slow burn every once and a while but after a certain point it gets ridiculous....

Excellent

Magnificent story, very enjoyable, not caught up with sex. some sex is acceptable for me in a story but not porn. The narrated is very good with different voices that are realistic.
