AVA HARRISON AT HER HEART-SCORCHING BEST

Oh, Ava.. Ava.. Ava I’m a wee bit grumpy this morning and look like roadkill and it’s all your fault.. what’s that, why you dare to ask me? Well it’s this compelling, unstoppable, addictive slow burning enemies-lovers tale of course that I stupidly started just before bed. I should’ve known your greatness would pull me in from the start with angry, handsome, sexy, vindictive, vengeful Trent for your anti hero leading the charge on Peyton his innocent, loveable, sweet, naive target. He thought he was justified in making her life a living Hell.. but you and Peyton would show Trent how very wrong and unjustified he’d been with feisty barbs thrown right back at him, with unshakeable strength of character in the face of his powerful alpha assishness and through forgiveness and love of a good woman. His character growth melted my heart.. his possessiveness and romantic loving side was sweet to finally see.. and it was his love that saves the day in this emotional rollercoaster of his own creation. However, he’s not the only enemy in this shattered story.. with fear, bloodshed, terror and a well-sprung trap on the horizon things get heavy, heated, heartfelt and hot fast as high alert turns to horror and hunger.

Worth a credit? Definitely.. I always ‘one click’ you Ava and you never ever disappoint as I “one more chapter” your deliciously addictive stories into the first few hours of the next day. And here you’ve blown me away with feels, fiery friction, tantalizing tension, toxically-fuelled combustible chemistry, suspense and gripping drama and love, forgiveness and the strength of a good woman who saw beyond the masked shell of a monster. PLUS, the spectacular and very skilled dual POV narration by Vanessa and Jason (.. 💕 u J) meant the whole story came alive, had a pulse and a heartbeat and brought clear mental images I loved watching play out.

Slow burn

This was a slow burn as described. Action wasn’t till the last 2 hours of the book. It seemed repetitive monologue. I loved both characters but the book didn’t need to be this long

LOVED IT, absolutely loved Trent & Payton. This is another fantastic book by Ava Harrison and the audio performances are superb. This story grips you from the start and holds you in suspense until the end, as again, Ava puts twists in there you don´t see coming. She also gives us a delicious slow burn that has two damaged souls go from loathing each other to become more than they expect.

There is a line in the book “love and hate are two sides of the same coin”, which is very true, and I had a lot of emotions running through me. In the beginning, I despised Trent and had a lot of anger towards him which later turned into a lotta love but he was being a mega alpha hole for at least half of the story. He has nothing but contempt for his dad and is, out for revenge, trying to make life hell for the one person who is the most innocent.

Payton Hart, love her character, she is feisty and although I felt her angst and frustration, I also felt her strength and determination of not giving up. She had a lot to deal with in her life already and it does not seem to stop as due to circumstances Trent is controlling everything and literally having her future in his hands, but Payton just knows how to give as good as she gets and you can look forward to a lot of explosive, sarcastic as well as sexy, lusting banter between these two.

And to top this already captivating story off, Vanessa Edwin and Jason Clarke take you on this aural journey and WOW do they deliver. Vanessa´s performance is absolutely stunning, her imitation of each character and how she gives them personalities is just outstanding. And, oh Jason Clarke, he always raises goosebumps with his variety of raspy growls, and he gives every character their own individual spin. Whereas Jason´s female voice makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, Vanessa´s male voice makes me melt and swoon. Charismatic, mesmerizing and powerful performances by both!

love this book - has all the intrigue & then some

great story - has all the parts of a good dark romance w/ some bad guys, some good guys, some haters turned lovers and some powerful visualization. also great steamy scenes.

Yes, but No

The story was good, but I guess I didn't like the subject matter if that's the correct phrase. I am not sure how they got by with the torture with no consequences. And how does the female character just go along with that stuff. It's beyond me. But I still enjoyed the book because of the narration. I have to remember not to pick any more Mafia books.

Trent and Peyton were perfect!
I love seeing a bad boy billionaire get dropped to his knees by a feisty heroine.
The plot was original and the story was perfectly paced.
Let’s not forget the fantastic job Jason Clarke and Vanessa Edwin did at narrating!!!
They were amazing and I could listen to this duo on repeat!!
Definitely recommend if you are looking for a light suspense read that focus more on the characters interactions versus an overwhelming plot.

ENEMIES TO LOVERS #1

OMG! What an amazing love story.

This story was amazing, interesting, heart stoping at times, I read the blurb and i had to buy it. It did not disappoint Trent was hard to like at the beginning with all the hate he felt and the anger he had toward Peyton. Peyton is an amazing character, a strong young woman who has had a very rough life but despite that she’s kind, strong and full of sunshine. I loved this story and the changes that we see happening in Trent as he starts falling for Peyton. Love this book and would give it 100 plus starts. What more can you ask of an audiobook, Well how about Jason Clarke and Vanessa Edwin they were outstanding as Trent and Peyton. They made this characters come alive with their outstanding talent.
