Publisher's Summary
For nearly two thousand years, there was only one Druid left walking the Earth - Atticus O'Sullivan, the Iron Druid, whose sharp wit and sharp sword kept him alive while pursued by a pantheon of hostile deities. Now he's got company. Atticus's apprentice Granuaile is finally a full Druid herself. What's more, Atticus has defrosted an archdruid long ago frozen in time, a father figure (of sorts) who now goes by the modern name Owen Kennedy. And Owen has some catching up to do.
Atticus takes pleasure in the role reversal, as the student is now the teacher. Between busting Atticus's chops and trying to fathom a cell phone, Owen must also learn English. For Atticus, the jury's still out on whether the wily old coot will be an asset in the epic battle with Norse god Loki - or merely a pain in the arse. As the trio of Druids deals with pestilence-spreading demons, bacon-loving yeti, fierce flying foxes, and frenzied Fae, they're hoping that this time...three's a charm.

FINALLY MADE IT!
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A chronicle of the druid, centered on the druid, not on the female druid, which every appearance was cheesy, boring, and tiresome. I fast forwarded a lot....
What do you think your next listen will be?
I do not know, but not from Kevin Hearne
Have you listened to any of Christopher Ragland’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
As a narrator, he is pretty good, but the story is not
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Shattered?
I would not have published this book at all!
It has became a soap opera.
Any additional comments?
He finally did it, I'm out of here! no more druids, and no more Kevin Hearne.

It is Atticus' story - not Granuaile's
Really enjoyed the book, and the four stars are credited to the story of Atticus, Owen and Oberon. They are truly fun characters. It feels like Kevin Hearne has some real life characters he can look at when writing their stories. They are truly funny, and I like the addition of Atticus' arch druid. Owen Kennedy is brilliant in his simple approach to everything. Oberon is as always funny with his sausages, and his self proclaimed poodle addiction really made me laugh hard. They are worth listening to.
That is not the case with Granuaile.
Granuaile is boring. I do not get why she is there, and the story about her father quickly becomes a little annoying. The way her story is tied back into Atticus' story does not really give anything. She is a character that is needed for giving the reader background information.
The real action comes with the three males of the story.
Christopher Ragland is really really good as narrator. He can do all the voices excellent. Unfortunately there are a bit too many "lead" characters - three persons and two dogs.
So next time more Atticus, Oberon and Owen. Less Granuaile and her dog.

too many voices...
I love the Iron Druid series but in this one where u have the story told by 3 different characters (plus 2 dogs) I find it not quite so enjoyable as the previous books. Please could we go back to one or two different voices. That having been said it is still great fun and Oberon is as adorable as ever. Although u get a resume of the story so far - I would not start here but with book 1 - otherwise the significance of poodles will be a little lost :)

Too many Voices
Would you ever listen to anything by Kevin Hearne again?
Yes
Any additional comments?
Would be better if there was less of Granuaile talking in this book. Found her distracting, and her dog talking was getting to me. Atticus and his dog Oberon are the characters that made me buy all the other books.
I hope the next book goes back to just the two of them.

confusing story line
with three POVs and characters running in separate directions all over the world, the story is confusing and less engaging than the other books in the Series. at least I found the audiobook with the same narrator as the other books, the first I picked up was read by some other dude who got the voices all wrong and didn't pronounce the names properly..

Mystery, Tyranny and Murder. Totally Gripping!
I've become a big fan of The Iron Druid Chronicles. Kevin Hearne's writing style is fantastic as are his stories. They're intelligent, well researched but still easy to read. His books are full of threads but never leave me feeling confused. Kevin keeps me entertained from the first page to the last. Shattered is slightly different from previous books. Atticus, Granuaile and Owen all get their own chapters. It was very insightful to get their differing perspectives and a great way of getting to know Granuaile and Owen better.
I downloaded the Audible narration to listen to Shattered as well as reading. However, I ended up listening to the whole thing rather than reading it. Christopher Ragland’s performance was once again outstanding. He transports me into each and every adventure. The pace at which he reads the story and the emotions he adds to the different scenes are perfect. I love the different accents he gives each character – his performance brings them all to life. Christopher doesn't have as wide an array of female voices as male ones. However, that's understandable and doesn't diminish his obvious talent. I knew straight away whose head we were in for the different chapters and didn't get lost in any of the conversational dialogue.
While I’m talking about the characters, I must say how much I love them all in this series. They’re complex, written with their own tales and histories. It makes each one feel real and believable. I love how much Granuaile is featuring now. We get whole adventures and chapters from her perspective in this book. I also really liked the onerous druid, Owen and liked his opposing views. Oberon, Atticus’ faithful Irish Wolfhound is still the BEST. He just lights up my heart in every scene he’s in.
Although the story was fast-paced it never felt rushed. We never had more information than our protagonists. Therefore we journeyed with them, never really knowing when or where the next problem would occur or the next attack would strike. I loved that I spent most of my time on the edge of my seat.
Shattered is the seventh book in the Iron Druid Chronicles so a lot has happened so far. However, Kevin does a good job of weaving any pertinent information into the story seamlessly. I didn’t notice any detrimental effects to the flow or pace.
The next book in this incredible series is Staked and I can’t wait to see what trials and adventures Atticus, Granuaile, Owen and the hounds have to face next!

Kevin Hearne is so gifted at blending with his pen fantasy into believable rich characters. While Christopher Raglund breathes life into every single character with his voice. I cannot help but laugh at Oberon and the addition or Orla is priceless.

Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Story
Sixteen-year-old Eden Matthews has been in and out of private schools for the last two years. She can't seem to stop herself from closing them down. Kingsley is her last chance to finish high school. Only Kingsley isn't like the other schools she's been to. The students are different. But, then again, so is she. After meeting Kiran Kendrick, the mysterious boy who seems to be the source of all her problems, she is suddenly in a world that feels more make-believe than reality.
