Many Americans dream of financial freedom, but they're stuck in dead-end jobs and don't know how to get there. You don't need to be one of them. If you invested $35,000 in the stock market today, it could take 52 years for that investment to grow to $1 million. But if you invested that same amount into one single-family $140,000 rental property, it would only take 19 years. With just two rental properties, you could generate $417,000 in profit in just 10 years. Skeptical? Good, because that's the first sign of a smart investor.

Shark Tales
I'm a fan of the show. I believe that Shark Tank is an American version of Dragons' Den in the UK. I haven't watched the UK version in many years since it is no longer on BBC. I'm not here to compare which version of the show is better, but I am reviewing the audiobook of "Shark Tank Jump Start Your Business."
This is a good book on how to start a business, get funding, and maintain your company. Having real insight from the entrepreneurs that host the show is very helpful in the new way of starting a business. They wrote this book in terms that the common person can understand and practice in the real world. The information is easy to remember.
The best part of the book are Shark Bites, where you get real tips from the six investors from different sectors in their business. It's a basic read for any start ups or an established company.
If you want to know more about the businesses that were feature in each season of Shark Tank, you will enjoy listening to the entrepreneurs in the section of the book of Shark Tales.

Middle School material. Vague, no depth.
I expected to learn much more from a book with the 'Shark' name behind it. The reason I say the writing was lazy rather than just lightly informed is because the author/narrator apparently has respectable credentials. All you should expect from this book is a list of subjects you should consider when starting a business, but it provides few answers of how to specifically go about anything.
The presentation and effort put into the book comes across like a middle school student who was required to read a paper he wrote to the rest of the class. This books is very generic and contains information that can be found almost anywhere and everywhere.
To the author: "Studies show" and 'Most entrepreneurs think...' are not good enough. Provide real examples of the points you are making or at least cite your sources. The listeners came to you because they have questions they want answered, not because they want to be asked 1,000 questions by the author, it's lazy.
The best parts are the tiny, cameo-size nuggets of info provided by the Sharks.
Looking forward to future Shark books with some teeth!

A must read for any small business start up
What made the experience of listening to Free: Shark Tank Jump Start Your Business the most enjoyable?
They spun tales from both the sharks and the successful contestants of the show to illustrate the importance of the advice that was being provided. The advice provided was both practical and simple to follow.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Free: Shark Tank Jump Start Your Business?
The most enjoyable moments of everything around the shark tank is the success stories of others. It's hard not to get excited about your own start up when you see these other folks doing it. If they can do it, so can you!!!
What about Michael Parrish DuDell’s performance did you like?
He kept the performance about the book, not himself.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
F*&^%&ING SHARK TANK. ENOUGH SAID.
Any additional comments?
READ THIS BOOK IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT STARTING A BUSINESS OR IF YOU ALREADY HAVE. IT'S GREAT!!!

Helpful Guide
This book was helpful in understanding what it takes to get a business started. There are a number of "Shark Bites" (interjected words of wisdom from the sharks) and "Shark Tales" (short stories from successful entrepreneurs of Shark Tank) to help tell this story. I thought this book was more of a guide than a handbook for starting a business.
I found this book to be more of a beginner to intermediate business learning medium. The book was helpful but if you take the books own advice and read two business books a month (as I was already somewhat doing), then you will find this information along the lines of what other business books already tell you.
What differentiates this book from others is the tips from the sharks and success stories from the show. A decent book for those starting out in business looking to become better entrepreneurs but not the last book on business to be read. Book is well narrated.

Great book, wasn't expecting so much insight
The book was rich with anecdotes and insights into the start-up phase, and lessons learned from shark experiences and real pitches were really good.
Suggest that the story might have included some parallels with other start-up approaches (e.g. lean startup, boot strapping). The approach of 'start developing an idea in your garage, start selling to your friends, have an 'aha' experience, then get a massive injection by going on shark tank' is one way to go, but the approach seems akin to winning the entrepreneurial lottery.
Overall, I'm glad I read it.
