Publisher's Summary

Jerry Jenkins is famed for having co-authored the #1 New York Times best-selling Left Behind series with Tim LaHaye. In his awe-inspiring series of prequels to Left Behind, Jenkins reveals the shocking revelations that lead our world to the rapture. In the dark years following World War III—after the rise of an oppressive new world government that strictly imposes a worldwide ban on the practice of religion—the underground Christian network slowly begins to gain momentum.

Great story and action, poor narration

The narrator’s delivery was choppy and lacked the fervor contained in the story itself. At times the recording “skipped” like a scratched CD, and sometimes I was tempted to stop listening due to longer than necessary pauses between chapters or scenes. Wanting to hear how the story ended is what kept me going till the end. Great writing by the author. Not so great performance by the actor.

Great story, bad Audible

Excellent quick paced story line. Story reader is great. Audible version is glitching in several chapters around #40. Amazon should fix it for smoother read & enjoyment without missing what is being read.

Grate Story, but

I loved this Story. It kept me on the edge of my seat.
However, I think the disks the book was originally on were damaged. There were 2 or 3 spots where it sounded like a smudged or lightly scratched CD.

The end of a trilogy

The only reason I got this on audible is because I got the first book free on Kindle, then I wanted to finish the trilogy, and the second one was on kindle but the third one was not, and I hate reading paper books, so I got the third one on audiio. The whole series itself wasn't that great but I vested in it enough that I wanted to finish it to find out how the author ended it. So I started out thinking the series was okay but not really a fan. That said, you are probably listening to this third book because you listened to the first two and want to know how it ends. LIke the first two, I found the whole plot and story a bit silly at times and some of the characters a bit "out there." Some of the writing not the greatest, but it was tolerable. I got a bit worried at the beginning of the book when the narrator was giving a synopsis of what went before and he was talking really formally, he almost reminded me of Mr. Howell on Gilligan's Island and I was hoping he wasn't going to talk like that through the whole book, and he did talk less formally once the actual book started, either that or I got used to how he talked. There were some audio problems here and there, skips and stuff, but they didn't last long. Also real long pauses between chapters and sometimes you could hear pages turning but it wasn't too bad.
