Many different clans and groups roam the world trying to eliminate other magic users and people.
Alistar is a paladin. The paladin are an order who abhor magic and try to eliminate all magic users. Alistar begins to be confused because the paladins have powers that are like magic. Rhona, his sister is showing signs of having big magic. When the paladins try to kill his sister he takes her and escapes. They are joined by Donnan a man from another clan who has fire magic. Donnan asks Alistar to follow him to his home so Alistar can heal his daughter. Lots of magic, fighting, and some betrayal.
