Publisher's summary

There are several things I've always known growing up as the alpha's daughter. The most important ones being:

  1. My twin brother Cord was the perfect choice as successor to our father. Mostly because I wanted nothing to do with being an alpha-in-training.
  2. I had two of the best friends a girl could ever ask for: Cord and Augie.

Then everything changed when my brother was murdered, and I found myself needing to prove to my father I was more than capable of finishing what Cord started.

When I'm sent to a meeting for alphas and their heirs, I quickly learn things are way worse than I ever thought. Especially when a cocky shifter forces his way into my life, making me second guess everything I ever believed.

If I can't figure out who to let in and who to keep at bay, I could not only be risking my heart, but the people I love most in the world.

I've already lost my brother, and I'll be damned if anyone else dies on my watch.

good story

I got sucked into the story. I like this author but don't love wolf shifter books, thought I would give it a try and enjoyed it.

Amazing!!

I honestly have no idea why I didn't start this series before now! The narration was so well done that I could feel the characters emotions as they should've been felt. The story was very written as well as wonderfully brought to life with the fabulous narration. I was honestly super bummed when the story ended. But now I'm genuinely excited to start book 2!

Good read

A little slow to get going, as she builds the characters, but overall a good book. She holds your attention and it gets pretty intense. I will definitely finish the trilogy

Captivating!

This was my first Heather Renee's book, and the first book in the Raven Point Pack Series. This story is suspenseful, and action packed. The World building is really captivating and intriguing. Liam and Taya are great characters. They share an instant attraction and a great chemistry. Kasi Hollowell did an amazing job with the narration. She has a beautiful voice, and a great male voice. All characters were easy to distinguish. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Now, I can't wait for the next book in the Series.

Shades of Fury

Taya never expected to be an alpha in training, that was her twin brothers role. When her brother is killed, it’s up to her to take on the role as well as find justice for him.

Heather Renee has set the stage for a great shifter series. I have a feeling the next book will be just as good!

Kasi Hollowell delivered a great performance, and I look forward to listening to more of her narrations.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Great Shifter Series!

The narrator was mostly spot on aside from some of the male voices sounding a bit strange! The female MC was badass and I loved her confidence! I think the pacing of the story could’ve been a bit better but overall the story was great. I am definitely looking forward to the rest of this series!

What A Book!

I fell in love with the FMC, Taya instantly! She has to step into a leadership role due to tragedy from the very beginning. I loved that her pack was not like most shifters I've read about. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Taya, Auggie, and Liam. The only bad things about this book are: one I couldn't put it down. Two it leaves you with a cliffhanger!

Paranormal Romance with Bite

Taya knows something is off, but never expected it to be that her beloved twin brother Cord is dead. Taya realizes that there is more going on to the story, that Cord was murdered researching a crime in the werewolf community. Taya is determined to uncover the truth and avenge her brother, while at the same time train to be the next Alpha of her pack in Cord's spot.

I love everything werewolf- it is a fact, I will read anything I can get my hands on that deals with werewolves (I mean really, who can resist the mate bond?). So when I saw the cover for Shades of Fury I was instantly intrigued by the book, the synopsis hooked me for sure. I ended up reading this in one day because it was so easy to get lost in the story, the writing was very approachable and the plot pacing was just about perfect. There was a little bit of everything in the story, be it action, danger, intrigue, pack politics, witches, spells, battles, mystery and a blooming romance that I can't wait to have more of.

I did find it a little disconcerting at how touchy-feely Taya and her best friend Auggie were, it felt like it was a little more than just friends when the book began, and I was afraid this was going to turn into a love triangle- I am happy to report that this is not even a little bit a love triangle (which makes me happy!). I forgave the touching since I am not a toucher (so maybe this is normal BFF behavior) and they are wolves who like touch in general. And while I mention that there is romance in the book, it was not the main point of the story, just a an interesting tidbit that has the potential to grow into something wonderful and possibly a giant conflict- but that will be in another book.

I listened to this on audio and I am super picky about my narrators. I am happy to report the narrator was an absolutely perfect choice to narrate the story as well as bring Taya to life. She had emotion and personality, I felt like with the mix of writing and the narration, Taya became a real person that I could understand and relate to. She also did a good job of making distinct voices for the other characters as well, and I would love to listen to the rest of the books in the series narrated by her.

I can't believe the ending, what a way to end abruptly and make me need more! This was as cliffhanger as an ending can get, with a big surprise dropped and the story ended. I have so many questions and I really, really need the next book. I found Shades of Fury to be fast paced and engaging and I loved the werewolf dynamic (werewolves are my favorite!) and world created. I highly recommend this for anyone who likes paranormal action stories with mystery and romance.
