This is a really perfect and interactive guide to navigate the tricky questions that must be discussed during the tween and teen years. It can easily be listened to with parents or you can leave your child to explore on their own. I love that it also discusses aspect and consent. It is an engaging listen that is worth adding to your (and your child's) library.

Great to spark good discussions

Well, I am at that time in parenthood where we are discussing sexual education. My daughter will soon be an adult and her world is going to open up quite quickly with going to college and being on her own and so many new experiences and situations are going to come her way. We have talked but we have never really dove into the topics that are shared in this book. I am realizing it is never too early to start having these discussions so that your kids can become comfortable with themselves and be prepared so that they can be proactive instead of reactive.

Chapter 7 on Invisible Fences of Relationships was great to listen to because she is now in a relationship with someone and he treats her amazing. Her best friend on the other hand has a very controlling and narcissistic boyfriend and my daughter is not quite sure how to help her she doesn't understand why her friend doesn't see the issues. After she listened to this chapter, it allowed us to have an open conversation which I think helped her out.

As a parent, there is so much we need to teach our kids and sometimes we miss the mark so when there is a book that can bring these topics all together in one so that you can have the conversations, and feel good about the education being provided and start having an open and honest dialogue, it's great and it provides some relief.

Sharing it with my teenage niece was a rewarding experience.
