The Door is the first book in the Seventh Dimension Series that combines contemporary, historical, and fantasy elements into a Christian "coming-of-age" story. A curse put on Shale Snyder, because of a secret, shrouds her with insecurity and fear. I had this gem in my library for over a year!! i got busy and forgot all about it. I live in Florida and with the threat of hurricane Dorian, I prepared for no electricity by downloading some audibles for me and the grandkids. I saw this and realized we had not heard it. Wow, I have to say- we enjoyed this book so much and purchasing another in this series as soon as I’m done leaving this review. All of us loved it! (50, 14, & 11 years old)

Despite my son's claims to be an atheist, we BOTH enjoyed this parable. There is enough paranormal phenomena that we loved it. Way better than reading the bible stories of my youth. There are elements of romance, angst, suspense, and sweet animals. A thoroughly enjoyable listen. Some Christian rhetoric, but the story makes complete sense, and it has excellent flow. The narrator was a surprise favorite, as I got this book based on its whispersync price. Awesome listen!
