Story

Fin dove nascono i buchi bianchi.”

Story
Over two millennia ago, the prescient insights of Anaximander paved the way for cosmology, physics, geography, meteorology, and biology, setting in motion a new way of seeing the world. His legacy includes the revolutionary ideas that the Earth floats in a void, that animals evolved, that the world can be understood in natural rather than supernatural terms, and that universal laws govern all phenomena. In this elegant work, the renowned theoretical physicist Carlo Rovelli brings to light the importance of Anaximander’s overlooked influence on modern science

Story
In lyric, accessible prose, Carlo Rovelli invites us to consider questions about the nature of time that continue to puzzle physicists and philosophers alike. For most listeners, this is unfamiliar terrain. We all experience time, but the more scientists learn about it, the more mysterious it appears. We think of it as uniform and universal, moving steadily from past to future, measured by clocks. Rovelli tears down these assumptions one by one, revealing a strange universe where, at the most fundamental level, time disappears.

Scienza, poesia e filosofia mischiati

A simple way of explaining complex matters
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. It may open the eyes on many obscure and remote realities of this world.
What was most disappointing about Carlo Rovelli’s story?
The shortness of his book.
Which character – as performed by Carlo Rovelli – was your favorite?
Albert, off course.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, it has to be listened one chapter at the time to better absorb the explained realities. And farther, I have listen this book more than 10 times since I purchased. There is always something new I discover in it......
Any additional comments?
Excellent reading and/or listening.
