All my life I have served. One lord after another, I have given them my time, my body, and my soul. My newest lord, however, is not one but three.

I have become the anchor to the three Aspects of Fate, the mortal chosen to teach the gods humanity. It seems an impossible task for any mortal to satisfy a god's wishes and I must serve three?

Three lords means three times the frustration, three times the petty demands . . .

. . . and three times the pleasure.

Contains mature themes.

The series is about gods learning humanity through sex. In the prior books, things ran long with the gods out in the world, interacting with people, dealing with life and death stakes, and grapppling with having their aspects divided into four vices.

Here, almost all of the canon is dispensed with and the Aspect/Anchor plot is distilled to one thing: sex. Here, you won’t find the three gods of Fate out in the world, learning how to interact with kids, talking to old men about a life well lived, or discovering the wondrous creations of mankind. Instead, the only teaching tool is sex and the only setting is a spiderwebbed castle.

Despite the one-track approach, I found the three Fates charmingly awkward and Yalena charmingly compassionate as she teaches them the joys of sex. There’s a lot of sex with each of the Fates separately, then eventually in twos and threes. This was 100% about sex: sex, sex, talk about sex, sex, gifts after sex, sex, sex, learning about sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex. No villain. No danger. No plot … except humanization via the power of the hooha. Even at 1/3 the length of the other books, it started to run long. Still, it was zero angst, sweetly awkward, and short enough not to wear out its welcome.

Sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, …

Holy crap, this was so fluffy and spicy at the same time. perfectly encapsulates reverse harem romance to a T. very heartwarming and beautiful. Definitely a good afternoon read

the only problem is that *the story* isn't long enough!

She didn’t know if she would be their anchor, but she didn’t like the idea of not being settled. Being their anchor, she realized that they were different from the others. She grew to love them and they also cared for her. Sweet story, but very sexual. Good narrative .

Serving 3 Gods

The narrator’s idiolect is difficult to listen to, as she mostly speaks every three words as a phrase. It’s like someone who is out of breath and can only get three word out at a time, and the occasional sentence. It’s very disjointed and lacks the smooth flow of a narration, it feels solely read. Read three words, three more, three more, manage five…she doesn’t use natural phrasing to form a smooth flowing fully formed thought.

I like this series and actually purchased this book. I recommend only listening if in the plus catalog. It was the one I was really looking forward to, but the stunted narration kills the novel.

Some idiolects are just not for my ears, this narrator’s is one such.
