Sermons of Meister Eckhart

Meister Eckhart, who has been called the "Father of German Thought", was a Dominican monk and one of the most profound thinkers of the Middle Ages. He was born about 1260 AD in Thuringia and died at Cologne 1327 AD. In 1295, he was Prior of the Dominicans at Erfurt and Vicar-General of Thuringia. In 1300, he was sent to the University of Paris, where he studied Aristotle and the Platonists and received the degree of Master of Arts.

Very rich and extensive coverage of his works.

Very rich and profound. The narrator did a great job too. He seemed to pronounce each word with a sense of the weightiness of meaning that is worthy of Eckhart's sermons.

More than Eckhart!

I was very happy to find that in addition to the Sermons of Meister Eckhart this also includes sermons from Tauler, Suso, and the Theologica Germanica.

Voice sounds mechanical

Could not enjoy as the voice sounds almost computer-like, mechanical. A more warm and human sounding voice would have made it better. I did not listen to the sermons.

Eckhart is amazing but the reading is not my cup of tea

I love that this has been made an available on audio, but I really wish the audio is different. The pace and intonations is frustrating to me,
