Publisher's summary

Sentinals Rising is the second book in the saga of Remargaren, a vibrant ancient world of high fantasy suffused with magic and adventure.

Jerrol Haven, having rescued the king from the clutches of the malevolent Ascendants, knows they haven’t stopped their scheming. While trying to learn more about the mysterious Sentinals he woke from a 3,000-year sleep, he has to defend his king and country from further magical attacks. Should he trust the Sentinals in such vital positions? Can he trust them to protect the king and Vespiri?

As Jerrol learns more of their capabilities, he realizes there are more secrets yet to be revealed. Maybe those questioning their sudden rise in power have a point. Before he can delve further, a call for help comes from the neighboring country of Terolia. The nomadic Families are disintegrating into chaotic infighting. The king sends Jerrol to investigate, instructing him to do whatever is needed to protect the Families from the Ascendants.

Continues to be Complex but still Fantastic Read

Parents: This is acceptable for middle school and up
Language: PG
Violence: PG-13
Sexual content: PG

The story and world continue to be complex (in the best way) and very engaging. This is book two and these are not stand-alone books, you do need to read them in order. Some of the more nuanced parts of the story I think still get a little lost in the audiobook but it is still a fantastically immersive experience as a whole. If you enjoy adventure, mystery, mind control, and deception, strap in and listen to this series; I promise you won’t regret it!

The narrator has fantastic and diverse character voices!

Amazing & Highly Addictive Story!

Tons of action and so many twists, especially that ending... gah!!!
The story is written with rich, vivid detail that hooks you right from the beginning. The second book in this series seemlessly picks right up where the first book ended. Amazing audio narration really brings this world alive. Can't wait for the next one!!

The immersive adventure continues

Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is an honest review. Narrated masterfully by Matt Coles, Sentinals Rising is the amazing sequel to Sentinals Awaken and the adventure gets even more explosive for Jerrol Haven, the Commander of the Lady's Justice and the Awakened Sentinals discover the explosive secrets the Ascendants are putting into motion. After the brazen attempt to over throw the the kingdom of Vespiri during an important engagement; Jerrol and the Sentinals find themselves within the deserts of Terolia, that are ruled by a complex web of families that are being carefully under minded by the Ascendants, allowing for not only the trust in those that run the country to collapse but enable despicable behaviors such as slavery to flourish. Angered and embolden by the position he holds, Jerrol comes down hard upon the Families and and their consequences that change thae makeup of Remargaren in unforeseen ways. In a book filled with explosive secrets and twists, the author Helen Garraway puts Jerrol Haven a terrifying ordeal against the Ascendants that will forever mark his body and soul.

The grand and epic continues.

Definitely highly recommended.

A great 2nd book in the Sentinal Series!

Helen Garraway continues to do a good job with the second book in the Sentinal series. The main character continues to develop satisfactorily along with the supporting characters. The overall story continues to engage and the plot moves at a good pace. I look forward to book 3 in the series! Audio Version: Matt Coles does another fantastic job narrating this story and each of the characters.

A superb sequel

Garraway does it again in Sentinals Rising!

This sequel brings you right back to characters you enjoyed in the first book and once more into the adventures and action.

Only, I felt this book did so even more than the previous. Higher stakes, higher dangers, more world building.

As Jarrol is faced with ever waking the Sentinals in a growing war against the ascendance, he is thrown into fighting for his kingdom, the Lady, and his life

Garraway writes a sequel that makes you hold your breath and applaud the heroes. Matt Coles once again delivers a strong performance and has you drawn into the story with ease.

With how this book ends, you will be wanting to plunge straight into book three.

Great Fantasy

I enjoyed book two as much as the first one. The story has developed more complications. The characters have shown growth and new layers. The world building was more convoluted. There was plenty of action. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Matt Coles' narration was entertaining, and his performance kept my attention. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Great epic fantasy addition to the series

The second story in the series can be read as standalone or out of order. While there are some overall series plotpoints that carry through to the next book, this feels like a complete episode.

The book is full of detailed world building as the story expands into new territories. All the characters are interesting and each have an arc that meshes into their individual development. As someone who read the third book first, it was fun to find all the foreshadowing and see how the relationships and circumstances built and conspired to set things up and conclude.

Vivid descriptions and excellent storytelling make it easy to imagine the world and get immersed as the narrative unfolds. There's action, drama, some romance, tragedy, and brilliant fight scenes.

Matt Coles gave a wonderful performance of the story with a variety of voices filled with emotion, making the book enjoyable to listen to.
