Publisher's Summary

Are your goals aligned with your soul?

Many of us unconsciously pick up ambitions from our parents, celebrities, or the imaginary "they" we’re trying to impress. We crank hard trying to meet the "right" goals instead of the ones that match the shape of our heart. It’s Achievement Autopilot…and it’ll burn you out. So come close, I have something to tell you:

Knowing how you actually want to feel is the most potent form of clarity that you can have. Generating those feelings is the most powerfully creative thing you can do.

What if your core desired feelings consciously informed how you planned your day? Your career? Your holidays? Your life? That’s the heart of the Desire Map process. In The Desire Map Daily, I share the essentials of this holistic life-planning approach. Here’s how we’ll do it:

  • Hone in on your core desired feelings - those will be the compass for everything you do
  • Learn to make daily, weekly, and monthly action plans to bring those feelings into your life
  • Work directly with gratitude, fear, trust, sadness, love, and a whole lot more

The Desire Map isn’t sugar-coated affirmations or hardcore ambition tactics. It’s about turning inner clarity into outer action, feeling the way you want to feel more often, and having more to give to the world. Bring your doubts, your courage, your sense of humor, and your dreams…but most of all, bring your desires.

Behind every desire is a feeling - and your feelings will lead you to your soul.

not bad... it's a start

This is a great start, but what about those of us who are lacking in the realm of external support?

Yellow brick road to the home of our own Desire.

I have been following Danielle LaPorte online for years. I have heard her speak in person, and been wowed. I have been the blessed recipient of three Pay What You Can days, with The Firestarter Sessions (which I then also bought as an audiobook), Your Big Beautiful Book Plan, and The Desire Map.

Turns out, I don't really like to read books on my computer. I prefer good, old fashioned paper. And so when the Desire Map was released in December of 2013, I ordered a paper copy for myself immediately, and because I was so enchanted with the program (and wanted to give back for all the lovely PWYC day gifts), I ordered a paper copy to give to a friend. Then the Day Planner for myself. Then the e-book version for a friend. Then the audiobook versions of the Desire Map Experience and Desire Map Daily from Audible, because I love audiobooks. Then 5 more planners to give away to friends. And 6 workbooks to use and give away to friends. Love, love, everywhere.

THE WHOLE PREMISE OF THE DESIRE MAP IS CRITICAL INFORMATION FOR THE SELF-AWARE.

Let me say it again: The Desire Map is critical information for the self-aware, and for those wishing to become more self-aware. I devoured the book in about 3 days, and then took about a week to feel my way through the workbook. And it's a complete game changer. A total 180 transformation.

1. How do you want to feel?
2. Set goals that will make you feel that way, through every part of the process.
3. End of story. (Sort of.)

Simple. Beautiful. Magnificent. Transformative. Danielle has tapped into something that has been spewed, yet in actuality, missed by the multitudes in all but lip service: it's all about the journey, not the destination. (OK, it's a little bit about the destination…but only if the journey feels the way the destination should feel.)

The Day Planner fits in so beautifully with the whole system of Desire Mapping. I now have someplace to put my to-do lists…and they no longer feel burdensome. They feel energized. My to-do lists are generated first and foremost from my Core Desired Feelings, and then from my year’s intentions and goals. So my monthly intentions, my weekly goals, and my daily to-do lists – they make me purely vibrate with a Soul connection I didn’t realize was possible.

Danielle has given voice(and such a beautiful, honest, Soul-infused voice it is) to a concept that has whispered to my Soul forever: I am more, there is a better way, this can all be deeper. She has painted the yellow brick road that will guide us each to the home of our own Desire. She is the Wizard, showing us that we each wear our own ruby slippers.

Revolutionizing Goal Setting

Would you consider the audio edition of The Desire Map Daily to be better than the print version?

I believe this is only available in audio however, this is a great introduction to Danielle's Desire Map.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Desire Map Daily?

I would say the introduction was the most memorable part of the Desire Map Daily. Hearing for the first time what the Desire Mapping is all about, it was energizing. Danielle has flipped goal setting inside out with the Desire Map's approach - focusing on how you want to feel in life, then approaching your goals and life based on the Core Desired Feelings (CDFs). It brought clarity to my goals that I haven't had before.

Which scene was your favorite?

I'm not sure I have a favorite scene, but I felt accomplished when I worked through to the end and have my CDFs - and feel fully energized by The Desire Map and community (Facebook).

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I WANTED to listen to it all in one sitting (only 4 hours) but I used it as a "workbook", doing the exercises as Danielle talked through it. It was more important to me not to rush through this important work so spent one weekend listening, probably 6 to 8 hours total.

Any additional comments?

After listening to this audio, I've purchased the Kindle Book and will be leading a Desire Mapping group. Her voice is beautiful and this new approach is inspired. As you can probably tell, I highly recommend this recording.
