Publisher's Summary

The internationally recognized teacher, speaker, and New York Times best-selling author of A Return to Love argues that our desire to avoid pain is actually detrimental to our lives, disconnecting us from our deepest emotions and preventing true healing and spiritual transcendence.

Marianne Williamson is a best-selling author, a world-renowned teacher, and one of the most important spiritual voices of our time. In Tears to Triumph, she argues that we - as a culture and as individuals - have learned to avoid facing pain. By doing so we are neglecting the spiritual work of healing.

Instead of allowing ourselves to embrace our hurt, we numb it, medicate it, dismiss it, or otherwise divert our attention so that we never have to face it. In refusing to acknowledge our suffering, we actually prolong it and deny ourselves the opportunity for profound wisdom - ultimately limiting our personal growth and opportunity for enlightenment. Frozen by denial, we are left standing in the breach. Whole industries profit from this immobility, and while they have grown rich, we have become spiritually poorer.

As Marianne makes clear, true healing and transcendence can come only when we finally face our pain and wrestle with what it has to teach us. Written with warm compassion and profound wisdom, Tears to Triumph offers us a powerful way forward through the pain, to a deeper awareness of our feelings, our lives, and our true selves.

Soul-Shaking and Groundbreaking

This book is a fast-tracked vortex, into a total self elevation to a higher level, which renders you powerful and exhilarated to live life to the fullest everyday. The title may imply that you have to be in tears/ in a bad place to read it but, I think that it is valuable for anyone no matter what his/her current circumstance/sentiment are. Marianne, God bless you. I wish you continued peace, happiness, and abundance.

For All Who Struggle as We All Do

Before I even finished this book I recommended it to friends who are struggling with depression and other challenges in life. Marianne skillfully lays the foundation of difficult times, then builds upon it to Lovingly, with brutal honesty, describe what to expect in spiritual transformation while growing through the struggle. She very effectively pulls teachings from A Course Miracles, Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism and other spiritual practices to illustrate her points, including why we struggle, how to begin changing our perspective of our struggles and why we should. And, her use of prayers throughout are a virtual toolkit for transformation. This book helped to make me aware of ways to improve my spiritual practice and become more aware of how Love reveals itself in my life. Wonderful teaching! Thank you, Marianne!

Reality for all of us

Would you listen to Tears to Triumph again? Why?

Yes, this is important information, as our times deny our humanity.

What does Marianne Williamson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her voice impacts the importance and the subtle stories...... I appreciate her for this.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The missing link in the 21st century....... how we lost our humanity to Big Pharma.

Any additional comments?

I will use and quote this book in mine.

Beautiful

I wish she would have been my introduction to God/Spiritual world instead of through catechism with nuns that taught me humans are evil (thru teaching and MODELING their behavior), we were all sinners going to Hell because of a very punishing God. I thank you so much for this book. I can't stop listening to it and praying the prayers with you.

Transformative

This book is for anyone who needs to stand up after falling. This is a book about spirituality and not religion. There is such power in the ideas and the deep understanding that Marianne has. This was everything to me - when I needed it most.

This is for anyone in tears!

If you live long enough you will experience feelings of sadness, grief, loss and the tears that accompany such feelings. Marianne offers a very helpful and healthy perspective on how we can be with our feelings and how we can think about what ever tragedy we experience in a healthy way that will help us move forward. I am very moved by this book and very grateful that this has been written.

Too much God

Im very spiritual and I do believe in God (of sorts) but the reference here is never ending. Does not add to Louise Hay's books, so if you're looking for similar books this one is not the one. Same message but extremely repetitive.

Amazing book, comforting while also inspiring

my 19-year old pet just passed away 3 weeks ago, only a few days after this book came out. it's been extremely helpful in getting through the pain, and it's also much more than that. it's a guide how to get to live your most perfect life, the life you were meant to live. I feel as purposeful as never before, realising that we're all so much more than our physical bodies, and that we always have a helping hand (of love) to help us out of any darkness and into the light. highly recommend this book.

Very Religious!

What disappointed you about Tears to Triumph?

It started off well but seemed to suddenly become entirely about Faith and God and Jesus and very repetitive... may have balanced out again, but had to stop listening as it was getting quite frustrating.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Initial enjoyment followed by massive disappointment.

I listened again and again

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is a book I would recommend to anyone who would like to make a change in their lives.

What did you like best about this story?

Marianne explains her concepts very clearly and she is easy to listen to. It's like having a wonderful friend who is very wise and gives you the best (sometimes hard to hear) advice. You know that this friend has your best interest at heart and wants only what is the highest experience for your soul's growth.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

There were chapters of this book that I listened to multiple times. The chapter on relationships was especially informative, inspiring and I wanted to really take in the information. It is such a fascinating part of life.

Any additional comments?

I know I will go back and listen again.
