Apocrypha is a Greek word that means "something hidden". The term is often used for writings of the church that are not generally accepted as authentic or inspired.
It is unclear what the motivation was for writing many of these works. But often they fill in gaps of information where the Bible is silent, such as the lives of Mary and Joseph (Protoevangelium of James); the early childhood of Jesus (Gospel of Thomas); and the ministry of various disciples (Acts). This is a collection of 14 works of biblical apocrypha for students of lost Christian writings. The Apocrypha are a loosely knit series of books, written by early vanguards of Christianity (covering the eras of both the old and new testaments), which comprise somewhere between about a dozen to several hundred titles, depending on whom you ask and how that person defines the word Apocrypha. A small selection of these can still be found included in the Catholic bible, while a majority of the books in question, were abandoned by church officials in the early centuries of Christianity.

The Apocrypha ("hidden things") are contemporaneous with the Old Testament, but were not officially accepted as part of the Bible when the Hebrew "canon" was set. They did, however, form part of the Greek Scriptures and came into English Bibles by that route. The writings of the Apocrypha run the whole gamut of literary genres: histories, romances, devotional works, proverbs, and sermons. Many complement parts of the Old Testament, and listeners will recognize some familiar Biblical characters in the narratives, such as Daniel and Esther.

A hidden gem
No Long Commentary. Over 40 complete Apocrypha Books . Excellent sound quality.This the best Apocryphal Collection I found in audible so far.A must download you won’t be disappointed
