Publisher's summary

When faith is adrift, the heart is the compass leading the way home. This poignant regency inspirational romance will fill your heart with love and hope.

Rachel Lockhart grew up running wild and free with nomadic gypsy children on her father’s estate. Craving adventure, her imagination conjured up an impossibly perfect, grey-eyed man to share it with.

Now grown, her outspoken ways are about to send her home from London in disgrace. Until she unexpectedly clashes with an impossibly perfect, grey-eyed man. And the back of her mind echoes with God’s promise: I will not leave you comfortless. As if she’d find comfort with a man as arrogant as Nash Browning.

Broken by too many sea battles and soul-sick from recent loss, Nash doesn’t even know where to begin to search for his lost faith. It certainly isn’t among the addle-brained females of the ton. But when he stumbles upon an enticing masterwork of contrasts named Rachel, his weary heart sparks with life.

Is it possible the way back to his faith is with a woman who is honest to a fault, yet fiercely loyal to a shunned people? Can he set a course for a future with her, and trust that God has prepared the way?

A thread of faith, however faint, can lead you to your destiny.

Great Read

Seeking Rachel (Seeking #4) was a great read by Josie Riviera. Rachel Lockhart grew up wild and free with nomadic Gypsy children on her fathers estate. She craved adventure and would use her imagination to see what life could bring. She is now grown and outspoken, which is sending her home to London in disgrace. She unexpectedly closes with the perfect man she always dreamed if, Nash Browning. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

I Really Enjoyed This Regency Novel!

Seeking Rachel was a wonderful and sweet story. Although a bit shorter than the other book from this series that I listened to recently, I still felt very connected to these characters and hopeful that they could find their happily-ever-after.

I really loved that Nash, who was a highly sought after bachelor of the ton, did not let the fact that Rachel was a governess dictate how he felt about her. I really liked his character a lot.

Rachel and Nash had some big obstacles to overcome and some difficult people who were happy to interfere with their lives, making this Regency tale one that I really enjoyed listening to. The narrator did a very good job with the narration. It was a very pleasant story to listen to.

Christian Regency Romance

This was a clean Christian Regency romance starting with a secret meeting in a garden between a governess and a wealthy gentleman. Rachel is headstrong, loves to learn, loves her gypsy second family, cares a lot about her precocious charge Jemimi, and is deeply religious. Nash is a jaded former navy captain, who has lost faith in God, but can't help his instant attraction for Rachel. There are a lot of misunderstandings and secrets revealed and their path to true love and destiny is not smooth.

I enjoyed the British narrator with her wonderful accent and pronunciations with voice changes and emotional inflections in all the right place to keep me listening.

Sweet Story

WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Rachel Lockhart grew up running wild and free with nomadic gypsy children on her father’s estate. Craving adventure, her imagination conjured up an impossibly perfect, grey-eyed man to share it with. Now grown, her outspoken ways are about to send her home from London in disgrace....

MY TAKE
Another fun story by Riviera. This is definitely a Christian historical romance. If that's an issue, this might not be the book for you. But it's a fun tale, and I didn't find it preachy. It's simply the journey of someone who's angry at God and needs help finding his way back to his faith.

More than that, it's a love story. Nash, a former naval captain, is tired of the manners of all the fancy ladies in London and longs to return to his country estate. He comes upon a beautiful young woman singing with a gypsy woman. Nash has issues with those people but he's intrigued by this young woman. He ends up following her to her home sharing quite an unusual exchange of words with her. But she refuses to give him her name. But he's not a man to be put off.

What follows is a fun series of meetings as Rachel takes her niece who she's the governess for on various outings. There's even an invitation for Rachel and her horrible cousin to Nash's sister's birthday party. It's that cousin who shares some devastating news to Rachel. It's lovely when she and Nash are able to help each other through their problems. The reunion at the end is sweet.

The narrator Tessa Petersen did a decent job, but the way she read the characters was kind of stilted. And it didn't change that much between times of stress or high emotion and normal speaking. 3 1/2 stars for the performance.

***spoiler following ***

I brought down my review for a couple of reasons. One was how blase Nash was about opening kissing Rachel in public. It's no wonder people were hinting he had a mistress. Kissing a woman was equivalent to ruining her reputation in this time. That he would do so to a woman he professed to care for gave the impression he wasn't a man of honor. Yet, in his heart, he was. He should have had more concern for her.

My other issue was the thing about the gypsies. Early in the story we find out that the home of one of his sisters had been robbed by them, and he held them accountable for her decline and eventual death. I kept waiting for this issue to come up, especially at the end, since Rachel was staying with them. That plot line was just dropped.

Rachel and Nash

Seeking Rachel
Seeking Series, Book 4
By: Josie Riviera

This is book 4 in the seeking series. It features Regency and Romany Gypsy Culture and Romance. Rachel is an educated young woman, of 24 years. She is single without

means and sent to be a governess for her cousin's daughter. While they are out in the park, Rachel meets Nash. He is a naval captain from a wealthy family, who is in a

supposed arranged engagement. The story takes off from there. The listener will be drawn along as they get to know each other. I enjoyed the Romany friendships Rachel

had.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by: Tessa Petersen.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed listening to this story very much. Rachel is feisty & a challenge to Nash but they work things out. Ms. Petersen does an excellent job reading it.

Fun, romantic and mysterious!

It seems as though Rachel will be a spinster. She would like to marry, so far she hasn't had the chance. When, Nash Browning saves her from joining an already very bad situation.

After Rachel shares a confidence with Nash, they begin to try and solve a mystery together. No one is the wiser of the two of them and what they are up to. However, the more time they spend together their hearts start falling in love.

Although painful some others that the truth affects, it is finally discovered and announced! Mystery solved!
