Publisher's summary

The Secret Supers are bored out of their minds during summer vacation-until they go to Space Camp. They learn all about the space program, try out moon gravity and zero-g simulations, and practice docking with the International Space Station.

But that's the easy part. The villains they defeated in the past are back with a diabolical plot that renders the middle schoolers' superpowers ineffective. Jeremy, Aubrey, Dan, and Kayla face the biggest challenge of their lives. Even if they escape the villains' clutches, will they survive?

Space escape

Summer boredom is cured by a trip to Space Camp, which results in a trip to space. This is a fun, fast-paced elementary to mid-grade adventure story. Although it's clear the kids have had prior adventures together, this can be read as standalone.
I liked how they combined their abilities and intelligence to solve problems and support one another. The trivia questions they ask each other are a good way to sneak in some history and facts without a lecture.
The way we get to hear the villains plotting is great. They almost steal the show.
Khai Lannor did a good job with the story as well as voicing adults and all the different kids.

Great Elementary Super Read

This book could stand on it's own but in order with the series. Space camp at it's finest... with an actual space adventure. These are definitely geared for elementary age kids on to about middle school readers. They are a clean fun read with kids with disabilities with powers but being pretty "normal" which I loved. I have a blind daughter and people constantly underestimate her and her abilities or assume she has other disabilities (mental, hearing etc.).

I do feel the need to correct a couple things mentioned in these books with the blind super - blind people can and DO watch movies, most recent movies come with descriptive audio in either the language menu of the DVD or Blu-ray and you can request the descriptive audio headphones at any movie theater. Blind has a range, only a very small percentage are completely blind - many have some vision like: light perception, fuzzing shapes, tunnel vision etc.

This narrator was great. He did a good job with the differentiations and acting. I did prefer listening at 1.25x speed.

Super fun to listen to with my kiddos.

I'm not sure how many Secret Supers books there are but this is the 3rd one I have.
I bought the 1st 2 books but this one I was lucky enough to have gotten this one for free with the expectation of an honest review.
I got these books because they are awesome to listen to with my kiddos.
These are fun and light-hearted BUT they have an amazing message about the physically challenged and that they can do a lot more than they are usually allowed to do in our society. Not with superpowers, of course, but just in their everyday lives.
This is written for the grade school level but is enjoyable for adults as well, especially if you're listening with your littles.
