Publisher's summary

As a working parent of four-year-old triplet daughters, I understand time management presents one of the greatest barriers to my pharmacology students' success. Many students feel that cold sense of overwhelm and information overload.

This easy-to-listen guide organizes pharmacology into manageable, logical steps you can fit in short pockets of time. The proven system helps you memorize medications quickly and form immediate connections. With mnemonics from students and instructors, you'll see how both sides approach learning.

After you've finished the 200 Top Drugs in this book, reading pharmacology exam questions will seem like reading plain English. You'll have a new understanding of pharmacology to do better in class, clinical and your board exam. You'll feel the confidence you'd hoped for as a future health professional. For patients and caregivers, this book provides a means to memorize your own medications to better communicate with your health providers.

Read it out of order

This was a very good book. It has several bits of helpful information throughout. However, I would suggest reading it out of order.
Start with chapter 28 of the Audio book sections, and write down all 200 drug names.
Then listen to all the review material that starts at chapter 29 to get a basic overview of what you are diving into. THEN go back to chapter 1 and work through the book. By taking down the drug names, then listening to the review before you get started, the rest of the book will make more sense. :-)

For goodness sake Audible- title your chapters!

The content of this audiobook is great! I just wish I could scroll through the chapter titles and select based on content. Numbering the chapters 1 through 38 with NO additional information is kind of a dealbreaker. At the very least, listeners should be able to log in to their Audible account and see chapter titles that give some insight into the content in each chapter.

One of a kind!

I love the narrator, the flow, the mnemonics, and the simplicity. Highly recommended!!!! As a medical student, I can confidently say that this book is one of a kind when it comes to learning Pharm. First book I've come across that is not intimidating.

Finally, an audiobook with correct pronunciations!

Would you consider the audio edition of Memorizing Pharmacology to be better than the print version?

There are many names in pharmacology that seem unpronounceable, os it's not as much that the audio is better than the print version as much as helpful to have with the print version.

What did you like best about this story?

The Cardiode to Joy performance in the cardiac section is really well done, the book really makes sense from beginning to end.

Which character – as performed by James Gillies – was your favorite?

The ending where the mom and dad had to do CPR on their 3-month old was a tearjerker.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

How to make pharmacology not suck.

Very focused on american students

What did you like best about Memorizing Pharmacology? What did you like least?

I truly lie the idea of this book. Pharmacology names might be very hard to remember, and this book tries to help students by dividing the different pharmaceuticals into different classes, and explains the origins of their names. That makes it much easier to remember. It is also well red by the narrator.

The reason i gave it only three stars is that it is very focused on brand names, and since the brand names very a lot around the world, this really just makes the book useful for students and professionals practicing in the USA.

I would recommend it to American students, but not to student form other countries.

P-1 student

I am a P-1 student, mom, and have all the responsibilities that a 39 year old returning student endures. I downloaded this book the summer before my P-1 year and listened while doing household chores. It has helped me so much during my first year to already have this information down and I could spend my time on the new information presented in class. The tips for remembering the immense amounts information in a short amount of time and only needing to review the drug cards for exams have contributed to my success in class and as a mother navigating the 4 intense years.

Suplemental to Nursing Pharmacology

This is great to listen to before you go into Pharmacology for nursing. I have a medical background, but this still was a fantastic refresher and went well with in class studies.
