This new edition begins with a preface by author Dan Wells, the first person to read the completed novel, and a new afterword by Sanderson explaining how he came to write the book and its place in the Cosmere, the unified universe of all his Tor novels.

Also included is an expanded version of the "Ars Arcanum" appendix, with more of the technical details of the book's magic that fans can never get enough of.

Elantris was truly a milestone both for Sanderson and for the genre of epic fantasy. It deserves this special treatment, something Tor has done only once before, with Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game. Sanderson fans old and new will be excited to discover it.

Narrator was great!

The narration by Jack Garrett takes the cake! Not that the story was lacking at all but the narration kept me drawn in during the dry parts of the novel. I also love how the overall story felt whole to me. I could tell it was very carefully thought out and constructed.

Enjoyed the journey!

Great Story. Was interested all the way through. Narration was good. Even when you think you know what's coming, you are left with some hesitation allowing the narration to take you on the journey. The uncertainty prevents one from jumping ahead of the author and gettting bored. Good pacing. Strongly recommend.

great sanderson book, but...

if you are coming to Elantris from Stormlight or Mistborn, know that this book is from early in Sanderson's career, and as he says in the epilogue section 'his prose and environmental style have greatly improved'. Hands down it is a great story, cool characters and a good magic system, just less well written than his later books

Best Fantasy Novel. Period.

This should go down as one of the greatest stand alone fantasy novels in the history of literature. Believe me.

Such a wonderfully rich story. Sanderson nails it!

It's no wonder this book was picked as his first one to be published. It is simply astonishing.

Jack Garrett does not disappoint

I was hesitant at first because I have grown to love Michael Kramer narrating Sanderson's work, but I quickly grew to love the narratiom and the story. Another fantastic piece of the cosmere.

Amazing book!

I couldn't stop listening! As soon as you think one thing is fixed another pops up it's almost like a rollercoaster keeping you hooked. Beautifully told.

So glad I bought!

I listened to this Audiobook every chance I had. The storyline was not predictable and kept me interested throughout the entire story. Absolutely loved it, its on the top of my favorites list!

Fantastic read with weird pronunciations

I love this book. It's one of Brandon's best. The reading is faithful and clear except that the pronunciations are weird. This may be a bit pedantic, but there's a pronunciation guide at the back of the book and on Brandon's site.
