Editorial reviews
The first book in Michelle DePaepe's Eaters series introduces Cheryl, a young woman who is celebrating the return of her fiancé, Mark, who has been stationed in Afghanistan. After a camping trip in Denver, they hear of an epidemic spreading throughout the country, turning people into insatiable "Eaters" who have developed a taste for human flesh. It isn't long before Mark is infected, and Cheryl must find a way to survive the zombie attacks on her own. Heather Jane Hogan gives a subtle and nuanced performance, affecting an eerily calm style that creates an unsettling tone for this unnerving novel.

What disappointed you about Eaters?
Story line rather simple and cliche'. Some parts of story don't make sense. Not much expression from narrator. Sounds like she reading a fairy tail. Some parts of story sound like one of those romance novels. Don't quite work in a zombie novel. The entire book felt like it was made because the author wanted to jump on the band wagon of the zombie genre craze. What do you think your next listen will be?
