INTRODUCING THE ALPHA AND OMEGA NOVELS...
Anna never knew werewolves existed until the night she survived a violent attack…and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she’d learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. But Anna is that rarest kind of werewolf: an Omega. And one of the most powerful werewolves in the country will recognize her value as a pack member—and as his mate.©2008 Patricia Briggs; (P)2008 Penguin

Love Patricia Briggs books!

The narration was a bit "meh" for me. It wasn't bad, but I don't feel like enough was done to distinguish voices. Most of the men sounded the same with the exception of Tag, who was described as having a high voice that belied his big size, and Asil, who looked Middle Eastern but, since he'd spent some time in Spain, sounded like Antonio Banderas' Puss in Boots. The women weren't too much better with only Sage really standing out because of her thick Southern drawl (that I found a little laughable as a Southerner myself). I will continue to listen to the books since I didn't dislike the narration. Holter Graham just might be the type of narrator that has to grow on me.
Being as this is about the pack that Mercy was raised in, I feel like I should be reading this side by side with those books. Part of me does want to take up the task of rereading the first book and continuing that series, as well. I look forward to reading more of Charles and Anna's adventures and watching them grow as a couple.
So Glad I Started This Series!

Come sideways into the Mercyverse. This is a side series of the Mercy Thompson books. Charles is a foster brother several hundred years old, and Anna is his very recently found mate. While Charles and Anna are trying to get used to each other, a crisis arises in the Montana mountain area that they call home. The publisher's blurb gives hints and there is no need for spoilers. Just read it for yourself and get caught up in the world of the werewolf.
Holter Graham is perfect as narrator for this branch of the books.
Excellent!

Ms. Briggs is a new author to me and she has developed a good story line. I like the way she developed the Omega. While I've heard of the Alpha and Beta members of a pack, this is the first time I've heard of an Omega member.
Holter Graham is a new narrator to me as well. Over all he does a good job of narrating this book, but he does need to work on his female voices.
If you do decided to get this book, keep in mind that you have to get to part 2 to get to the stronger parts of the story. By the end, I think you will be glad you did.
An Overall Surprise!!!
