Story
Once upon a time, there was a king who passed. He left behind two sons, one beloved and one outcast. The older of the two was set to take the throne, but before he could, he had to find a queen to call his own. The younger one was known to be unruly and unhinged. The chosen queen was warned to keep far away from him. Beautiful and cunning, in the light is where she stayed. But late at night, it was the shadowed lands in which she played. Mistakes were made and secrets forged; forgetting duty and her sense. And while the new king had her hand, her heart belonged to the scarred prince.

K.S Haigwood - Save My Soul
Reading as much as I do it is almost inevitable for me to reach a point where a novel plot line is something so elusive it almost becomes a myth. So when I started on this audio book I was shocked, delighted and intrigued with the authors ease in taking a concept so apparently logical and yet never really before explored in fiction and weaving a tale of love, loss and lust around it.
As far as novel plot line -- a 5 *. I am sure I might very well come by a guardian demon battling alongside a guardian angel in future but for now bravo to the author for entertaining me with a novel concept.
Title -- love the double entendre. You'll have to read it to know what I mean. 5*.
Theme -- as old as time it self. Love conquers all. How can I give it less than 5 *.
Execution and pace of the novel. Very well done. Sometimes I figured too much emphasis was placed on the lusty scenes but this will resonate with romance lovers.
4*
Character building and setting. 5 *.
This was an audible copy and in this I hit a hitch.
Erin Mallon narrated the book for 7 hours 23 minutes.
Either the mixing or the narrator herself caused the first few segments of the book to be somewhat hard to listen to. The narrators exaggerated breathing at the end of sentences was extremely distracting.
Honestly she sounded like an asthma sufferer who needed to control her breathing at the start of an attack. This lasted for a few segments until it evened out. Again, I am unsure if this is the narrator or the productions fault. I also, due to the breathing issue became aware of how exceptionally well the narrator pronounces each word. I am torn between a rating of 2 due to the rocky start and 4 due to precision and eventual correcting of the problem so I will stand off at a very high 3.
In total a 4* listen and read.

WONDERFUL Story
I received this audio book free for an honest review. I absolutely loved this book. KS Haigwood is a very talented writer. Her ability to tell a very intriguing and exciting story is amazing. She develops a very believable and relatable characters. The story was so captivating that I laughed and cried. It has been a long time since a book brought tears to my eyes. I started listening this morning and finished the book this evening. I couldn't put it down. I would recommend this book to any one who wants to read/listen to a story that gives you everything. Mystery, suspense, romance and love. It has all the elements of a great story. I love the way she directs your heart to believe in two, maybe three different love matches for Kendra. It is hard to tell which match will be made in heaven. I especially love the religious-type story she delivers without preaching or being pushy. Almost like that old television show "Touched by an Angel". The narrator, Erin Mallon, did an excellent job of distinguishing each of the different characters with a very pleasant voice. Thanks Kristie and Erin so much for the entertainment and for sharing your talents.

An Interesting Story!
This is an intriguing paranormal romance. I really enjoyed it!
I originally downloaded this on my Kindle a while ago, as I was intrigued with the blurb. However, I decided to also download an audio copy so I could listen to it whilst doing household chores.
I was, however, a little disappointed with the narrator of this story. Erin Mallon read the story clearly and gave each character their own voice, but I found that when she came to take a breath after a comma, or at the end of a sentence and to start the next, it was rather loud and annoying. In a way, her breathing showcased the precise way she pronounced each word, so I cannot fault her for that. Nevertheless, her deep breaths distracted me from enjoying the story more.
Kendra Larkin is a character that I wasn't sure I liked. I found her character a bit superficial and weak; she was not as well developed as she could have been. Nevertheless, she does have a few redeeming qualities. She is kind and loving, though she is a bit of a daredevil, and is a photographer by trade.
I started listening to this story and, apart from the narrator's breathing, found myself hooked. I am not particularly religious, but I do believe that everyone of us has a soul, and that each of us has a soulmate, even if we haven't met them yet. However, although I am a consummate romantic, I am not convinced about insta-love. Nevertheless, I set aside my skepticism and went with it for the sake of the story.
This story does have a rather religious feel to it, though it is not preachy. I also found some of the dialogue a little cheesy at times, and I kept wanting to roll my eyes because of it. But this is just my opinion; other readers may not feel the same way.
I liked meeting a few of the characters; I did find Adam Chamberlain a bit self-absorbed and conceited at first, though as the story progressed, I began to like him more. I did, however, like Rhyan from the start. He is Kendra's guardian Angel. He seemed to be a stronger character; more suited to being the lead, rather than a secondary one. I liked his determination to help and guide Kendra in her task. I also liked Mason, Kendra's nurse. But, things are not as they seem and, as the story takes a decidedly darker twist, I found myself cheering on Kendra as she took on Adam's guardian Demon. The story ended happily, and I am now looking forward to reading/listening to the next book, Hell's Gift, as soon as possible.
K.S. Haigwood has written a wonderful paranormal romance. I loved her fast paced writing style, and the flow of the story was wonderful. I will be following her career with interest.
I recommend this story if you love older YA or paranormal romance genres. - Lynn Worton

Save My Soul Review
It took my a while to start this book because I didn’t think it would live up to the hype of all of the other books K.S. Haigwood has released, but I have to admit I was not disappointed.
At first I was hoping Kendra would end up with Mason... obviously that didn’t happen and I’m happy about it, the selfish devil that Mason turned out to be.
I loved Adam around the middle of the book, he was so confused and didn’t believe. But thank the good lord above he came around just in time to help save Kendra’s life, and both of there souls. Such a wonderful love is found just once in a lifetime.
I can’t wait to start book two of this series.

Any additional comments?
I had this as an audio book and once I started listening to it I couldn’t stop, headphones on, glaring at anyone who dared to try and disturb me lol
After an accident lands Kendra fighting for her life on Adam’s operating table she makes a deal with his guardian angel, save Adams soul in exchange for her life but there are conditions she wasn’t made aware of.
An absorbing story that will draw you in and keep you captive till the very last word.

Excellent story but not keen on the narration
I loved this story and I have to say, I'm team Rhyan all the way! There was just something that didn't sit right with Adam for me. but that's just my opinion.
it was exciting, interesting and very well written. I will definitely be downloading the next book in series.
My only fault is the narration, she sounded like the love child of keanu reeves and romy from romy and Michelle's high school reunion when she was speaking for the men in the book which took slightly away from the enjoyment of the romantic scenes
but all in all an excellent book

Supernatural Mills and Boone
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Less talk about God.
What was most disappointing about K. S. Haigwood’s story?
The fact that she just assumes that Christianity is the only religion.
How could the performance have been better?
The performance could have been better with a bit of irony.
You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?
It was the only book on my iPod that I hadn't listened to.
Any additional comments?
I think books which push religion should have a warning on them.
