Interesting...not a traditional Christian Romance

I am not really sure how to classify this book. It is a Paranormal with religious undertones but it also has premarital sex. I am have no problem with that, but traditionally somebody looking for a Christian read doesn't want sex and regular paranormal readers are not looking for as much god talk. This makes it difficult to see exactly who the target audience is.

I generally like the book and the story. There is a great flow to the book and the characters. I did think it was a bit tricky all coming from Kendra's POV, it limits you to only what she knows or is told. It might have been nice to have a little of Adam and his skepticism. Or Ryan, with his guardian angel angst.

Kendra has moments of immaturity and times when she seems really promiscuous. Not sure how a Christian readers are going to take her friends-with-benefits relationship. It also appears almost every guy in the book is interested in her. Don't get me wrong, she has some really winning moments, but there are a lot of curve balls as well.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Erin Mallon, who does a very nice job of helping to connect with the main character. Her voice is rather breathy at times, but nothing I could not handle. She has a steady quick pace, another thing I enjoy. Her voices were all distinct and consistent throughout. The emotions seemed off at times, some moments were dropped while others seemed exaggerated. Still it was a comfortable listen.

Overall, I enjoyed the book, I was just thrown by the seeming contradictions. I will definitely be looking for the next book in the series, I just have to know! I love a bit of drama and this one had me tearing up a few times!!

What would you do to save the one you love?

We say we will do anything for love? We profess it to the ones we love and we believe it wholeheartedly. That is until we are asked to believe the unbelievable. We are asked to have faith, but something keeps up from letting down those walls and doing the very thing we said we would do. We push limits and we try to fix things out of our control. This is every day life. In this book the author takes those things and molds them into a beautiful story! Guardian demons, Guardian Angels, the love of soul mates and a soul or 2 on the line! I couldn't get enough and would listen every chance of could! I had to know if they could do it! I can't wait to see where the next piece of the story takes me!

Kendra Dying But Saved By Love

I loved this book. Wish I hadn't waited 4 years to read it but it is delightful. Kendra is on the operating table, dying or maybe already dead, hears voices in her head which turn out to be her guardian angel, Ryan. Don't believe in guardian angels? You might after reading this book. This is a delightful romance where Kendra must convince Adam, her doctor by the way, that he must believe in God or she is going to die in 7 days. It is a pleasant story with a happy ending. You would expect a happy ending with that title. there are two more books in the series and I plan to read both of them. I don't usually like books with a religious overtone but this series is not preaching but just plain 'feel good' kind of story. There is adventure, smattering of sex without graphic details, and lots and lots of feel good. Erin Mallon is Good narrator for this series.
