A SHIRT WAS JUST WHAT I NEEDED

FOR A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS SHE SEEMED A TRIFLE BOSSY
Having read two of Laymon's shorter works, this was not what I expected. While it had plenty of bodies being cut up in the first three hours, it was written in a 1800's London style. The writing style took away from any possible suspense and made the horror parts seem almost comical. If this had been a six to eight hour book, I could have hung on, but having to listen to another ten hours, just seemed daunting.

Laymon's best work!

What an amazing coming of age story about a young boy forced on a journey pursuing Jack the Ripper as cross the sea and in to the Wild West. This is not horror, but a mix of adventure, suspense, and yes, love!

Fantastic

This book along with the narrative performance was very very good. I love this writer style of writing. The pacing of the book and the building of suspense was very good. The narrators performance was excellent. I found myself looking forward to getting back to this audiobook as often as possible. I will be checking out other titles from Richard Laymon.

Wonderful Reading

The voice performance is wonderful. The story is okay. Without spoilers, I feel like it often strayed from the elements that make it exciting. Spent most of my time waiting to get back to those elements.

entertainingly

I'm not sure if it was the narrator's performance or what, but this book ended up being both disturbing AND hilarious at the same time!

A little like swan song by mcgammon. Well done. One of his better books.
Comming of age adventure, funny at times.
