Two years ago, Sara's husband left for the gym one morning...and never came back. His car was found. He wasn't. Unbelievably, the police report said, "no foul play suspected." There were a few sightings over the following months, but little else.

Now, on the last day before summer break, her three children have gone missing from their schools, all at the same time.

And the note under her windshield wiper asks one foreboding question: Are you ready to play the game?

A mystery I didn't want to stop listening to. Sara is a marketer in a big company and climbing the corporate ladder. She works with Shelly a quiet girl always ready to help Sara if need be, and a great marketer. And there is Teddy, VP of the company because his daddy owns it. He is a small man with an obnoxious personality, and Sara isn't fond of him. Sara's husband disappeared into the blue several years ago, leaving her alone to raise their three children. Sara had adapted to her hectic life pretty well, but hadn't stopped wondering what had happened to her husband. She was well liked and things at work were going as smoothly as they ever did at work, then things went horribly wrong. Her three children were kidnapped.
I am wondering if there is going to be a part 2.

I would have enjoyed this book so much more if it had been narrated by someone different. The narration of this book was horrible. It was very hard for me to enjoy the book because of it.

Decent Book but awful narrator

This book had the potential to be a good read, however, The narration did not do it any justice. Given that the story was about a mother whose children had been abducted and their lives threatened and she subsequently had to “play the game“ In order to get her kids back, the intonation in the mother’s voice given by the narrator fell flat. Specifically, the narration for the mother conveyed more of a lighthearted curiosity and interest with regard to solving the somewhat frustrating clues, and completely failed to convey the panic, fear and despair that a real mother in this situation would really express. She was made to sound way too level headed and compliant and lacked any true emotion. The Voice and subsequent intonation also given to the “abductor” made him sound like a feeble old man reading a story to his grandkids, and was creepy in a gross “dirty old man” way rather than in a terrifying way - it wasn’t the least bit scary, nor did it really invoke any particular intrigue or resulting emotions. As a result, the story felt dishonest and just downright strange, so much so that I was unable to listen to the entire book is a result.

Subpar narration

The narrator doesn't seem to know how to pronounce certain words and the editor should have corrected them.

Good story but...
