A really great short story that's part of our fabulous series

I really enjoyed this short story. It filled in a lot of information about the characters, and I enjoyed their interactions and them learning to trust each other more and falling into their roles. For an hour and a half story, it was also packed with a lot of morality type of issues, which was also interesting. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Good companion story

Fits very well into the storyline of the series. A good quick fix if you’re not ready to leave your favorite characters. Solid.

Kate Reading difficult to listen to

I put up with Kate reading through many Brandon Sanderson novels and I've gotten to where I just really can't stand to listen to her anymore, she mis-characterizes all of her female voices. every female character regardless of age or race or other trait is portrayed as a little girl by Kate Reading. or a silly teenager at best. Even older women such as a starship captain is treated with a staccato little girl voice. I just feel like I've been patient through thousands of pages of Brandon Sanderson and others and I just can't put up with her anymore. I know that is a subjective opinion but I feel that I've been fair. The only way I was able to get through the Sanderson novels was because Michael Kramer does more of the reading. I like the story, though. I am patient and tolerant, but sort of grit my teeth while listening and wish a better narrator had been hired. or at least someone had told her to stop presenting every female as a silly little girl. for crying out loud!

Best combination

I love these two women working together. I am much saddens that other series use annoying narrators. I began another series and after Kate Reading, I can’t stand a book with any female narrator who makes every character sound like they are having a day a the mall.

Leaves me wanting more.

An interesting side trip, but wish the story could be expanded to resolve some of the questions left hanging.

Good story and superb narration, as usual by Kate Reading who I still remember from the wheel of time.

The narrator was great as usual. The story was entertaining, although I dislike the whining of the main character. I actually dislike the main character. Other than that the characters were very good, and the narrator made them all stand out as individuals.
