Publisher's Summary

Michael Kage Santori doesn’t think his life can get any more complicated. Juggling a new business, a fledgling UFC career, and the only real relationship he’s ever had is taking a toll on him both mentally and physically. After being attacked for daring to question the inner workings of his own business, he is left broken and confused. The discovery of his uncle’s journals has brought him face to face with a past he never understood, and the new perspective has him reeling. Add to that the fact that he hasn’t been totally honest with the love of his life, and you have a recipe for a serious nervous breakdown.

When an old friend resurfaces with new information, Kage discovers things are only going to get worse before they get better. If he ever hopes to free himself from the chains of his uncle’s dark legacy, he’s going to have to become something he never wanted to be.

And risk losing the only person he’s ever truly loved.

Jamie Atwood is in over his head. Instead of the happily ever after he’d envisioned, moving in with Kage has only been one disappointment after another. Kage has come out to the entire world and still managed to keep his reputation and his UFC contract intact, but mysterious forces Jamie has yet to discover are transforming his sexy alpha fighter into someone he doesn’t recognize anymore.

If Kage doesn’t come clean soon, Jamie fears he’s going to have to leave. With his journalism degree and a newly flourishing MMA blog, he knows he’s got what it takes to make it on his own financially. It’s his heart he’s worried about. Because without Kage by his side, what is there to live for?

Meanwhile in another lifetime...

Peter Santori has found his bliss. Being Gio’s boy is a dream come true for a guy who thought he was doomed to a life of abuse and poverty. His confidence and sense of security are flourishing in the warm glow of Gio’s love, and he has started to believe that maybe he can have the fairy tale after all.

Never mind that he’s got to keep the true nature of their relationship a secret. Never mind that one of Gio’s associates seems to have something against him. And never mind that sometimes he gets the feeling that there’s a lot more to Gio than meets the eye. All that matters is that he and Gio are together.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT

I love Kage and Jaime and can't wait for the next book. This is one of the best MM romance books out there. Please start from the first book Kage. This book is 2 stories in one. We get to learn more about Kage's uncle Peter, which is also an interesting story. I have faith in Ms. Black that Kage and Jamie will overcome their problems. There's no other outcome for the two. I think Jamie and Kage has done some seriously stupid things in this book that could jeopardize their relationship. What were they thinking? J. F. Harding did an awesome job with narration.

I can’t get enough!

I’m hooked on Kage and Jamie’s story no doubt but I’m also intrigued by Peter and Gio’s romance. JF Harding brings these men to live with his talented performance. I could listen to him speak all day. Waiting for #3 in audio...

OMG

I love this book. I need book 3... I loved the Kage Trilogy and now the man Peter I hated is tugging at my Heart strings as a boy... And Gio.. Man I need Jamie and Kage back together. They just do not make since apart. I am so upset I now have to wait for book 3... and Harding telling the story is everything. It would not be the same if it was someone else telling it..

Kudos to the Author!!

Wow... this is a great series ..
The passion, angst and story is very good. There's a story within the story being told which is so good.
I don't think anyone other than J.F. Harding could have narrated these books so well.
Looking forward to the next and final book to this trilogy.

Outstanding Mr Harding...just outstanding!!

4.5 stars for the story, but ALL the stars for the narration...and talking of the narration, Mr Harding has excelled himself once again. For both this and the previous Kage series, AND the last few stories of the Cut & Run series, his narrations have been outstanding...in fact I'd go so far as to say that his narration is better than the stories insofar as Maris Black's work is concerned. His characterisations are spot on, each voice [and even accent when needed] is distinct, and when emotion is called for, JF is there with bells on. Tremendous stuff, and providing the author is someone I read [and like], he will be an auto-buy for me from now on.

As for the story, the quality has improved without a doubt, but I really am gobsmacked 🤯 at the level of naivete of all the main characters.

KAGE for not thinking that Theo Brown, sick b*****d that he is, would not be out to get him for apparently waltzing in to his uncle's business and taking what Brown regards as rightfully his. You can't trust that guy as far as you can throw him Kage!!

JAMIE for clearly not anticipating the possible repercussions of his MMA 'scoop' [including pics] with Rodriguez(s). He knows how jealous and possessive Kage is, and yet still pushes those buttons...😉. I do believe however that they'll be together at the end of the trilogy...they've [hopefully] got one of those forever love things going.

PETER for living in cloud cuckoo land, and not believing that Gio doesn't have blood on his hands. If he ignores it, it will go away...well no, it doesn't really work like that, sorry. Your 'love' with Gio doesn't alter the fact that he's a mob boss, and has the blood of many on his hands regardless of whether or not he actually murdered them. Oh, and it has to be said that his journals must be ginormous as they've taken up quite a lot of this trilogy to date....

I hate that AARON gets to blackmail Kage into doing his dirty work, using Jamie's involvement in the death of Santori as leverage, but it is what it is. How else will the government discover all the dirty details of who's involved in the seedy and sordid world of Las Vegas crime?? Will the end justify the means?? Oh God...let's hope so. At least Aaron has a reason to try and keep Kage alive...

I despise THEO Brown, both as a flaky teenager and now as a vengeful older man. The archetypal pantomime villain...everyone would boo and hiss at him during performances, or throw rotten veg at him onto the stage.

Such a great story I need the last book in this series now ...
The writing is so good that I got caught up with Kage"s family who are devious or maybe not?
It is like a plot growing bigger and bigger and the pawns are Jamie and Kage...
