Publisher's Summary

The Greatcoats are back - and this time it's personal.

How do you kill a Saint? Falcio, Brasti and Kest are about to find out, as someone is doing just that, and they've started with a friend.

The Dukes were already looking for ways to weasel out of their promise to put Aline on her father's throne - but with Saints turning up dead and Church Inquisitors pushing for control, rumours are spreading that the gods themselves oppose her ascension.

The only way Falcio can stop the country turning into a vicious theocracy is to find and stop the Saint killer - but his only clue is the iron mask encasing the head of the Saint of Mercy, which prevents her from speaking. And even if he can find the murderer, he will still have to face them in battle - and this may be a duel that no swordsman, no matter how skilled, can win.

A really enjoyable series

Yet another superb book in the greatcoat series full of action with a slight bit of humour. Can't wait to read next instalment. The narrator does a brilliant job of bringing the character to life

Seemingly impossible

The greatcoats lurch from one difficult situation to another until it seems the problem is an unsolvable one. How do they solve these many puzzles, if at the cost of their lives then so be it!

Brave, courageous, valiant even foolhardy but battle they must it seems despite the odds. Good yarn of action and daring with questions about the nature of gods and saints debated too.

The third of four in the Greatcoats series. Well told by Joe Jameson.

Alright, but not as good as last two

Not as good as the first two. Characters' ability to forget huge wounds in a day or two is starting to get a bit annoying.

Narrater has a very limited number of voices and many of the smaller characters are indistinguishable.

The best of the series so far.

Another triumph for Mr de Castell. Truly enjoyable from the first word to the last. Great performance by Joe Jameson. Highly recommended, including the acknowledgements.....

Can’t get enough!

I’m loving this series and just about to start the 4th book!
Action, adventure, intrigue with enough sarcasm and wit to keep it from being too dark! All topped off with a great narrator!
Keep them coming!
