Volume 2

The story line picks up where the first book left off and it hooks you in. You'll feel like you are a spectator to each of the events as the plot unfolds and you'll be visualizing every move One Eyed Jack makes. Narration is great

I almost think it is better than book 1!

Christopher J. Lynch is such a talented author! I read book 1 and loved it. Book 2 is so good, I almost want to say it is better. Although it is a continuing series, the author does such a good job of information, it stands on it's own. One Eyed Jack is a blackmailer without a conscience, but with a heart. Heck of a combination, but it works! His trouble with the Russian came to a head, but is it over? Guess you will need to read it to find out.
Tom Jordan is one of my favorite male narrators. (I have a few!) The timber of his voice is PERFECT for Jack. His acting abilities is superb and his narration is right on. At NO point do I find myself NOT immersed in the story of the book. So much so, that I finished this 6 hour book in 3 days...which made me very sad because I wasn't ready for the story to end. Impatiently waiting for book 3!

Love the One Eyed Jack series!!!

It was an involving and well written story. An easy listen in the vein of an Elvis Cole/Joel Pike novel. Great narrator. Had to listen to the next book after I read the first. I definitely plan to read everything from this author . I received this as a promotional copy. Thank you.

Good follow up.

I really like this series. This is a good follow up to One Eyed Jack starting where it left off. The narrator is on point and really brings Jack to life.

Another Fun Read about One Eyed Jack

I listened to the first of these books a year or two ago and just found this second novel. I really like the character and enjoyed it very much! Great performance, once again, by Tom Jordan!

Jack Returns

One Eyed Jack returns for installment two of the One Eyed Jack series, in Russian Roulette. The story is a continuation of the original, with Jack facing dangers from his previous enemies, conundrums of what to do with some of his previous marks, and how to make things right in the end for all. Even for his Russian nemesis. Although "to make things right" would be highly subjective, depending upon whether you asked Jack or the Russian. Once again, Jack shows his compassion for the "innocent", as he takes dangers on himself, to prevent dangers to them. Tom Jordan, as he did in the original narration, brings Jack to life in such as way that you may wonder if Tom and Jack are actually one person! They are not, but the narration is so smooth and spot on, that you may have trouble telling the difference between the two. Give Russian Roulette a listen, and find out if Jack saves the day, as well as his ass!

Excellent Book Two!

I'm actually listening to two Tom Jordan books right now. I am simply amazed how both books sound like him and yet neither have the same vibe nor cadence. He really is something special.

Book one in this series was intense. Book two stopped my heart a few times.

John took the fight to the bad guys this time. He was out to avenge his eye. He was out to avenge his friends. His mission took on one heck of a ruthless band of Russians. He came out victorious but not without some bruises.

A great story plus great narration equals a fantastic listen!

A solid follow-up to One Eyed Jack

With no time wasted explaining what you either missed or should still know from the first novel, Russian Roulette gets down to business without delay. Being a half hour longer than the first book is not apparent in its playing out, as I blew through this story in equal velocity to the first, essentially uninterrupted. Melts away hours in the car on long trips quite effectively.

Lest some be worried that the story will just draw out the same players in a money grab for more screen time like so many movie franchises this day, fret not. The story takes on new twists and players and dives deeper into the relationships of some previous characters introduced in One Eyed Jack. This story, unlike the first, ends with a classic cliffhanger and uncertainty that all but ensures future tension and conflict with one particular villain.

Again, super coherent, intelligible, and fluid reading by Mr. Jordan. I played both this and One Eyed Jack at 1.25x and found it just right for me.

As good as the first!

Literally picks up moments after the first book finishes and just as good. Probably a bit more action focused and a lot more peril than the first!
Again, Tom does a brilliant job narrating; great character voices, great atmospheric reading.
Really hope there’s more to come.

Great Story! Great Narration!

Russian Roulette by Christopher Lynch pulled me in immediately with its non-stop action. I really enjoy the character of One-Eyed Jack, and thought that Tom Jordan brought him to life. The performance by the narrator is spot on. He adds the right emotions and gives distinguishable voices to the various characters. I could visualize so much listening to this book.
