Publisher's Summary

Rush: Montgomery Men Series, Book 1

I was running from my husband, a man I thought I’d known.

Running from the hell he had put me through.

He’d nearly destroyed the woman I had once been and

I would do whatever it took to regain my freedom.

I would lie, and cheat.

I would steal if it meant that I never had to go back there.

I’d run and keep running....

But there was one problem. I hadn’t planned for Ashton Montgomery.

He was a distraction I couldn’t allow. Not if I wanted to stay safe. I had to remain

distant, but he was relentless and had other ideas.

I caved because I hadn’t thought it all through, not in detail.

If I had I would’ve realized that you can only live in a fantasy world for so long before everything came crashing in around you.

And those lives you’ve destroyed along the way, make you no better than the monster you were trying to break free from.

How could I have been so careless?

It wasn’t meant to turn out this way.

But the rush of my freedom took control and I forgot how important it was to keep the secret of who I had once been.

And now I had nothing.

Only the fear that the man I’d run from would find me again, and finish what he started.

New hair, new man, new lease on life

Kiera finds herself escaping hell, taking on a new identity and starting over. She stumbles into the love and protection she needs in Ashton while dropping off legal documents. He’s a sexy alpha billionaire, you’ve fallen in love with the type before. Their chemistry is instant, the pair could set water on fire.

Lex the fiery best friend may be a little over the top but I want to be his bosom buddy and confidant. Also if anyone stumbles across a set of brother like the Montgomery brothers please slide them my card.

This is definitely a romance with hints of underlying suspense.

I would recommend this to fans of Sleeping With The Enemy(Julia Roberts 1991)

Good emotional book about becoming strong again

The story starts out with a look at the horrors Kinsley had to suffer from and it’s awful. And immediately I felt so bad for her and drawn into her life, hoping for better for her. (I cheered when Kinsley met Adeline. if only all abused women received the help they needed.)

Ashton was mean in the beginning and I wasn’t sure that I would like him. Even emotionally damaged, he was a level of arrogance that I didn’t like. But of course, first impressions could be wrong and he showed strength and emotions that made me eventually really like him.

Kinsley, now Keira, her name in hiding, met Ashton while she was delivering papers for work. Ashton chased Kinsley and eventually, they fell in love. Of course, the lies had to continue because Kinsley had to protect herself. Her history caused issues but eventually, they achieved their HEA. The supporting cast is great, especially Lex, who provides some comic relief. I’m looking forward to revisiting some of these characters in the future books of this series.

Sarah Puckett was fantastic, as expected. As this book was a dual POV, it would have been great to have both a male and female narrator. However, Sarah did a great job playing Ashton (and the other male cast) too.

I received this book from #AudioBookObsessionReviewer.

A terrific start to a series

A story that packs an emotional punch. The story was beautifully written and you feel everything that Kinsley is going through. Ashton is a perfect fit for Kinsley and the narrator did a superb job of capturing their emotions and story. Your past does not have to define your future and the author drives this home throughout Rush. Highly recommended and once you start listening you will not want the story to end. Cannot wait to listen to more.

Amazing

Today I have a book review for you on a book called Rush by C.A Harms.
Now this author is new to me. So I'm very excited to review this book for you. This book was a shocker. It if you have been in any sort of domestic abuse physically abusive honestly any kind of abuse I would go into this story with caution. The 1st couple of chapters as deals with sexual abuse as well as physical abuse in a marriage. I don't want anybody to had triggered. So that is why I am giving you this trigger warning.

Now this story is and story of a woman trying to get away from her abusive husband and in her journey finding a new life for herself. I honestly thought the story was good. It took me some time to get into because as I've said there is some abuse in the story and for meIt takes me a little bit of time to get into stories like that but once you move on through those chapters it really is about our main character finding her own voice. Our main character female her name is kensley and for our male narrator I actually share a name with him his name is Ashton. Although we do spell ours differently. So that was something kind of cool in the story that I found. Ashton is sort of the typical billionaire Jack have and the beginning of the story. I don't want to give too much away but I would definitely highly recommend this book.

This book was given to me to review I did requested period of but just because the book was given to me it does not sway at my opinion at all.

Awesome story

This was a new author and new narrator to me and I was so glad I listened! It was an awesome story of how a woman had been beaten down and been able to come back and be strong again and find real love. The narration was awesome. Sarah also did a great job with the male voices. I would highly recommend this audiobook!

A story of a survivor and second chances

The story wasn't nearly as formulaic as I kept anticipating it to be. Most of my suspicions did not come to fruition which was a sigh of relief.

The story and main characters were both believable and loveable. Narrator did an excellent job.

I'd love to see a spinoff of Lex's character as more of a rom-com.

Running From An Abusive Marriage To A New Life

A young woman tricked into believing she was marrying a good man, then the abuse begins...she’s trapped by her father’s care ( her husband is rich) which has been taken over by her husband. Finally the last straw and luck to be helped by a caring woman,,,she runs, changes her identity and starts life again.
Our alpha hero sleeps with a woman once just to relieve stress, has an awful ex which he helps blame his uncaring bedroom antics. But he he brought to his knees when he meets our heroine.
There is suspense, hot scenes, a fun best friend and two brothers who need their own stories.
It was an enjoyable and interesting listen, but I do get tired of the opening scene with the H in bed with a woman and his kicking her out.
I was a bit surprised after her abusive and domineering husband she was attracted to the same controlling dominance relationship..he just didn’t abuse her.
The narrator did a great job telling the story and keeping me involved.

Great Romantic Suspense!

Love stories like these. The author did an amazing job creating just enough suspense throughout this tale of love. I like that Kinsley and Ash were strong and had admirable qualities and were able to have real interactions in hard situations. Great characters, great plot.

I love Sarah Puckett's performances and this one was just as fabulous as ever. She continues to leave us in shock and awe of her abilities as a narrator. Excellent performance!

A Great New Series

I was excited and fearful of listening to this story. If done well, like Sleeping with the Enemy, then I would love it. However, if not done well then it would be disastrous. Fortunately, CA Harms knows how to write! This was very well written and I got lost in it from the beginning. There's adventure, romance, and enough underlying suspense to keep you constantly wondering what was going to happen next. The narration was done well. I would have liked a little more difference between male and female voices but I also had no problems knowing which MC was speaking. I will say Sarah Puckett did bring the story to life. She put the proper emotion when it was called for and read at a nice pace. Overall, a very entertaining listen that I will recommend to my friends.

Strong

I absolutely love the strength the heroine shown from page one. To stay in a relationship like that because you believed your father was benefiting takes a lot of courage and strength but to leave when the opportunity rises takes even more. I’m so happy that she finds her HEA in the end. If you enjoy storylines that have strong characters that overcome a horrific past, you’ll enjoy this book. As always Sarah did an excellent job with the narrative.

Loved it!

Sarah Puckett was amazing in narrating this book. I’ve come to expect nothing less from her. She conveys emotion and distinguishes between characters flawlessly.

Kinsley is easy to love and empathize with as she struggles against Jase’s control; Jase is a monster, Ash is perfection, and Lex is one of my favorite supporting characters! The chemistry, the struggle, and the ending all made for a wonderful story.

lost for words

I dont quite know how to put this review into words
I really felt for Kinsley and what she had been through, and whilst Ashton seemed like a heartless player he really cared and the story that followed was truly inspiring
Sarah Puckett once again knocks it out of the park

Loved it!

Trigger Warning: This story does touch on domestic violence a bit.

I’m a sucker for these types of books. I love reading about a character that comes from something horrible but finds something great.
I love reading/listening to survivors survive. Always makes me happy.

I love “watching” Kinsley grow as she learns to love again and gets her confidence back. Ashton is hot. I love how tender he is with her. Although I did hate him for one small portion of the book but quickly got over it.

CA Harms brought it with this one. You have all emotions....fear, anger, sadness, happiness. You get it all in this one read.

Once again Sarah Puckett did an amazing job.

So worth more than 5 stars

This book was a story of finding yourself again. Kinsley is married to a wealthy businessman. He is abusive and mean. He holds her captive to him. He uses her father's illness to keep her inline. She happens to hear her father died from a stranger.
The rest of the story had me on edge waiting for the husband to pop out.
While she is off in a new city and new identity, she falls in love with Ash. With Ash's help she truly finds herself again. Ash finds out her hidden secrets. He enlists his brothers to help take down the husband and his dad.
This story was tears, Joy's, heartbreaking moments. I was mad and sad... I can't wait for the next book.

Sarah Puckett has become one of my favorite narrators. She does a super job on characters. Her voice is smooth, easy on ears. If you haven't listened to Sarah yet what are you waiting on.

Kudos

Rush by CA Harm and narrated by the very talented Sarah Puckett is a story of abuse and the woman that was strong enough to get away and build a new life, and a man who pursued her, but upon finding evidence of her past was judgmental till realization made him see his error.
This story has strong characters and a wonderful storyline.

Another amazing story by C.A. Harms

What a whirlwind of suspense, secrets, smut and redemption! I truly enjoyed this story about Ashton Montgomery and his love interest Kinsley!

She was on the run from her abusive husband, he was a “hit em and quit em” playboy entrepreneur. But the electric charge between the two at first meeting was undeniable! Soon they found themselves falling so hard for one another, but it was all built on a bed of lies.

Ashton would eventually find out what Kinsley was hiding. After falling apart, piecing himself back together and admitting his wrong doing, he vowed to help her get the justice she truly deserved.

Sarah Puckett did an amazing job narrating this steamy romance book!

Amazing story of strength.

The story tells you an amazing story of strength and courage. This story tells you about how she escaped abuse, and found her true love. As an abuse survivor myself this story really resonated with me. Sarah Puckett was a delight. She truly knows how to bring a story alive.

Great story!

This book takes you through all sorts of emotions. Kinsley has a heartbreaking story of abuse by her husband yet, with the help of others, she has the strength and courage to get away and start a new life. Ashton is a bossy alpha male who isn't afraid to go after what he wants. While I loved him, there was a time or two that I also wanted to strangle him for some of the stupid things he did. Overall, it was a great story and I would highly recommend it. Sarah Puckett has a nice voice and did an amazing job bringing both the male and female characters to life.
