Publisher's Summary

All’s fair in reincarnation and war.

You’ve heard the stories of Norse gods: Thor, Odin, Ragnarok...I’m here to tell you they’re all true. I know because I was there.

My name is Loki. A thousand years ago, give or take a century or two, I walked the Nine Realms with my brothers, spreading mischief and leaving behind a trail of broken hearts wherever I roamed. I built an unforgettable brand as the trickster god, the father of the Midgard Serpent, Fenrir the wolf, and even Hel herself. In my exploits, I may have accidentally on purpose triggered a bit of unpleasantness that led to the end of the world, but apparently, it wasn’t the end of me. Recently, the shield of ice that froze me in an arctic cage melted (thanks, global warming), and I clawed my way to the surface of a new world.

With a fresh lease on life and a rocking-hot body, I just need one thing: the rune that grants me immortality.

Oh, and a bra would be nice. These boobs really know how to get in the way of a good hustle.

Book 1 in the Asgard Awakening comedy series.

Magnificent story

I enjoyed listening to this fabulous book! Not only did it made me laugh like a trickster god, there was one great story!
It caused me to lose sleep because I could not put it down. It made me want to go on a road trip, indulge my most eccentric fashion leanings, and pet a chicken. It’s not every day that you read a book about Loki, the trickster god being trapped in a woman’s body. I’ll admit, I was a little bit leery at first. My feelings quickly changed as the story developed into something that could only come from the mind of Kendall Grey.

Note I loved the little the chicken “squawks” made me laugh

This book is a fabulous mix of Norse mythology, comedy, romance, urban fantasy, witty, clever, and totally original.

Gifted for a fair and honest review

Mythical, hilarious, delightful! I know this author writes with a twisted sense of humor, but this story took me totally off guard.
This story is different than anything I have listened to this year, and I can’t wait to listen to more in the Asgard Awakening series.
If your looking for pn and a laugh than this audible book is for you!!
Natalie Duke is the narrator and she nailed it.

Loki's back, and he's a she! Grab your chicken!

Fans of Kendall Grey will love this fresh, funny, fabulous take on Norse Mythology. Kendall Grey newbies will find this a fabulous introduction to her snappy dialogue and engrossing story telling. If you're looking for something with plenty of humor, lots to say, and an unusual take on life, love, and Odin, it's time to dive in unreservedly and get this story.

Forget everything Marvel told you about Loki and listen to this outrageously different and new story about an old character. And it's not just the new boobs that make life a problem for Loki, either. It's the fact that he's got no identity, no idea where he is, and no clue what's going on around him. Throw in a hot scholar/Viking/rescuer, a television show based ever so loosely on the life he once knew, an airplane ride (the likes of which you'll never forget), and a busted a$$ chicken, and you've got the recipe for a hysterical story featuring your favorite trickster god.

Natalie Duke is excellent at evoking Loki's attitude and bringing the snark, which is so important to this story. Excellent choice in narrator.

Get this audio book, listen, laugh, and love it! I promise you won't ever find another story like this.

Gunner Magnesson Love him

The Narrator does an Excellent Job on this Audio book, This cover is the perfect rendition of Loki & that chicken Hugin, the story is a good one , took a while to get going , the first half for me felt it was infrmation , the why's, how's then the introduction to Gunner Magnesson , love that guy , Freddy , some funny moments, took till the eighth chapter for me to laugh out loud a few chuckles till then & using his/her feminine whiles , getting what she needs , its not till she gets to the USA that she realises she needs to find her runes ,as the book continues Loki's feelings turn more feminine , lessons are being learned ,Lagoose is found , but there are more to be found , Its a to be continued book . A great first book so Kendall get writing <3 :-)

So entertaining!🤣

I was really skeptical about this series at first but I’m so glad I gave it a chance. It is truly funny and the narration is amazing! There is no steam but the story is so good it doesn’t need it. You know you’re listening to a great book when all you wish for is this book to become a movie. It would be a hit!

Feel-Good, Laugh-Out-loud, Heartwarming and FUN!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BOOK!
Wow, this was a pleasant surprise. I expected lighthearted fun (and I got it in spades), but I was surprised by the heartwarming, positive and endearing side of the story.
This is FUN and hilarious, but at the same time it’s believable in all it’s absurdity and you truly get to care for Loki, her chicken and her friends.
It’s very well written, well balanced and excellently narrated.
This was the most fun I had with an Audio Book since I joined Audible!
Compliments and thanks to Author and Narrator, this was exactly the feel-good, laugh-out-loud story I needed right now.

I got this Audio Book for free (thanks!). I'm voluntarily leaving this review.

Fantastic story!

I really loved this storyline. It had a great unique twist to a well known character.
It took me a while to get used tot he narrator and Loki’s broken English accent. I didn’t like that Loki’s thoughts were in American, o have a feeling if the narrator stuck to the broken English throughout, including thoughts, or even when Loki got the gift of language maybe dropping the accent altogether, I would have preferred either of those.
But like I said the over all story was fantastic and I loved all the characters. That ending will have me picking up the next book for sure. I have a feeling I know who Daryl is too. I can’t wait to start book two.

Very funny

This book had a very funny take on the classic Asguardian tales. With quite a few laugh out loud passages that kept me entertained for hours and hours. A fantastic performance from Natalie you can really hear her smile as she gives her performance. Very well written.

WTH did I just listen to

I started this book in a horrid mood and ended with a grin. This book has to be one of the best versions of Loki I've heard. The dynamics had me laughing and going WTF on many occasions. I loved every twisted moment!

Unexpected

After reading the blurb, I really looked forward to this book, I really enjoy the Norse gods genre, but I was disapointed, I found the story difficult to get into, I didn't like FMC/M? Loki, the gender confusion didn't help, sorry but not for me. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
