Loved it! Couldn’t stop listening!

Filled with suspense, this psychological crime doesn’t disappoint. I have read many of Jodi’s books and every time I say this one is my new favorite. Jodi takes us on an emotional journey through her excellent character development giving us all the feels and at times fear. It’s the perfect blend of high suspense, and emotion. I love all of the characters and can’t wait to read the whole series.

Couldn’t stop listening!

I loved this audio book! The plot definitely had me second guessing my thoughts. The ending has me anticipating the next one. The only critique I have would be the voice, while it is fine for the male characters I think a woman’s voice would have been better for the women and young girls.

I loved every second of this recording!

Run for the Hills is not what I expected from author.
I am thoroughly impressed. Burnett has made the transition to psychological crime thrillers without a hitch!
Joslyn is a woman who can’t seem to catch a break. Being a trained therapist she is used to dealing with unbalanced individuals.
But nothing has prepared her for Leonard Perkins and his deranged mind.
The character development that Burnett has created runs deep and adds to her storytelling abilities..
Listen to the clear and compelling narrator as he digs deep into the town of Flint River and unlocks a captivating thriller.

Chilling Thriller

This first book in the "Flint River Series" was an exciting, twisted adventure that never stopped moving forward from one scene to the next. Joscelyn Turner was on the run from a former patient who was dangerous. She ended up in Flint River where she planned on hiding out until her stalker was caught. Soon Joscelyn became involved in the lives of the ranching community. I enjoyed the small-town community. I liked the characters as their flaws made them seem realistic. I admired the skillful handling and empathetic touch that dealt with the theme of PTSD which permeated the story. Nick Cracknell's narration was good, and his performance enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Excellent start to the Flint River series.

Run for the Hills is the ninth book by Jodi Burnett that I’ve read or listened to, and while the first eight were excellent stories, for emotional value they don’t hold a candle to this book. Overall, this book has much darker themes than any of the previous books I’ve read/listened to, but the way Jodi treats these themes is excellent and in many instances her treatment for them filled my eyes with tears, and other instances I was filled with hope. This is the first of Jodi’s books that didn’t include any law enforcement officials as central characters, so I can’t wait to see where the second episode in the Flint River series takes us. This is an excellent story to get acquainted with Jodi Burnett’s writing if you are new to her books. If you are already a fan, this is a must read/listen book. I listened to Nick Cracknell narrate the story, and his story telling skills are superb. He did an excellent job bringing the story and each character to life, not to mention his voices for each character provide excellent visual images of each person.

A great read from an amazing author

Run For The Hills (Flint River Series Book 1), my sixteenth read from author Jodi Burnett, who is one of my favorite authors. As I wait for the next book in her current series I've gone back to an earlier series I hadn't yet read. This 275-page continues the trend of well-written, enjoyable books, it caught my attention in the opening pages & I never put it down until completed. A Jodi Burnett book is like a visit from an old friend. "I was given a Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more in this series with Hidden In The Hills (Flint River Series Book 2) next on my TBR list, and look forward to SPEC OPS K9 (Tin Star K9 Series Book 8) when it's published in October of 2024. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
