Publisher's Summary

Rule number 18: Daddy’s boy will always believe in his Santa daddy.

Homeless, alone, and now jobless, Cameron Evans is lost...until he’s found, after a prominent local attorney literally trips over him when the boy is passed out from dehydration.

Scott Hendrickson has two things in life: his job as an assistant district attorney and his son Davey. Other than that, he lives alone in a house that’s too big, too empty, and too lonely.

It’s not just Cameron’s life that might change for the better when Scott takes him in. Scott can provide material things and security, but Cameron returns the favor by breathing fresh air into Scott’s stale life.

Two men who need each other and one magical holiday season. Could a little Christmas magic be all that’s needed to bring the biggest gift of all? Maybe, Cameron doesn’t need a sugar daddy because he already has a Santa daddy.

This is the third book in a series about not-so-perfect daddies, adorable “boys”, and one sassy brat with an insane list of rules.

Get ready for all the squishy holiday feels you’d want from a Susan Hawke book.

love this!!!!

Rules for Santa is the third book in the Davey's Rules series by Susan Hawke. Cameron and Scott are absolutely perfect in this sweet and sexy love story. There is a great amount of humor, a little drama and enough romance to make my heart happy. I love this!

Michael Pauley narrates this story and does a fantastic job. Clear recording and voicework.

Got to Love Santa

There is a lot of humor to be found in this story. Poor Davey to see his father find a match as a daddy had to be so hard for the poor guy. I do love the way that Scott and Cameron just seem to fit each other.

Exactly what I needed this holiday!

I love how low angst this book was. Susan Hawke could have easily piled on the angst with Cameron and had him be all “nobody will ever love me”, but instead the first time we hear from Cameron’s perspective he’s all into being just in the company of Scott and unashamedly checking him out FROM HIS HOSPITAL BED. I absolutely loved how Scott’s need to protect and provide kicked in with Cameron. The chemistry between them was off the charts. I am here for everything going on in this book. This will def a a relisten for me for sure. Usually when I listen to an audio book I’ve already read the book but this time I just dived right in. I didn’t zone out or miss any chunks of the story line and I’m attributing that fact to Michael Pauley, who’s voice I can’t seem to get enough of. His cadence is nice and smooth. I enjoyed listening to this on a 1.0x, adjusting the speed to a faster setting lost the aspects of his storytelling that I enjoy,

That was fun!

Michael Pauley is becoming a favorite narrator to me and quickly. He made the story heavier than when I read it alone and I was crying like a baby thanks to him. But it was a lovely Christmas story and who better to write one than Susan herself? Definitely recommend to read especially after you already read the ebook. Rereading it this way gives you a whole new perspective.

Daddy Santa!!!

Cameron is trying so hard to make it through each day and somehow improve his life but feels like he is continually knocked down. Scott discovers Cameron unconscious. This is a fun, sexy, and hot story that will keep you smiling and fanning yourself.

I absolutely love seeing the other side of Scott and Davey's reaction to everything is simply hilarious.

Hello Santa

This series is getting better and better. Cameron and Scott are so sweet together. I liked Davey a lot more after this book. I think it really added to his character and made him less douchey. Sexy time doesn’t happen till the end but it is hot and is low angst.

Loved It

I received an ARC of this audio for my honest review. I truly enjoyed listening to this story. Michael does an excellent job at narrating and keeping your focus through out the entire story. This story finds Cameron who is down on his luck after his father kicks him out for being gay and winds up getting fired for being clumsy. Scott who is at the restaurant with his son that Cameron was just fired from. When Scott is walking back to his car he winds up kicking Cameron who is passed out on the sidewalk. Scott follows Cameron to the hospital so he can keep up with how he's doing and invites him to stay after he gets released from the hospital since he doesn't have any where else to do. It's a great feel good story with a HEA. Bring on Book 4.

cute and sweet

amazing story! Susan works her magic yet again!
Michael did a wonderful job on the audio especially in the scene where Cameron is strutting. Davey's father Scott, who admits to Davey that he is bisexual, stumbles (literally) across Cameron after he was fired. Scott then precedes to take care of Cameron until he finally claims him as his.

It’ll get you ready for Santa 😉 All the feels!

I’m loving this series and loved Davey’s dad! Such a feel-good story, I loved confident, strong Scott and sweet, somewhat innocent Cameron and loved their happily ever after!

While a little awkward for poor Davey, he is always there to add some flare and unique insight! I loved the polar opposites between Davey and His dad, Scott. I’m starting to really feel for Davey, I hope he gets his perfect Daddy soon!!

I loved the caring dynamic between Scott and Cameron and felt they were well matched and had great chemistry. It was fun seeing more of Scott and his background and Cameron’s story was a little heart-breaking. I felt the heat and the love between these two. A thoroughly enjoyable read!!

I’m loving all the characters in this series and all the workers at Daddy’s Lap. My heart is still broken over Raphael‘s death in the last book and Susan shows so much love to all the characters still recovering, grieving and healing from such a loss.

Thanks for reading!

My Favourite of the series

This was great! I adored the holiday feel of the story and the daddy/boy combo in this one really did it for me. Scott was so great with Cameron and the slow burn was worth the wait.

Santa Claus is Coming!

What a great Christmas read! Rules for Santa is sweet and sexy - a great addition to an already awesome series, and exactly what I want in a Christmas read. The daddy in this book has been introduced previously, but I was surprised to see Davey's REAL father get his own story. Scott is the ultimate daddy. He is confident, settled in life, and ready to take care of a boy of his own. He hasn't considered such a relationship until he literally trips onto the perfect boy for him. Cameron is homeless and desperate after being kicked out when he comes out to his family. Scott saves him from the streets, and discovers not only does he want to take care of Cameron, he wants a relationship with him as well. This book is low angst and lots of sweet cuddles, hot cocoa, and updates with familiar faces (and a few teases of what's to come). Narrated by Michael Pauley, it is guaranteed to be a great listen. Pauley does a great job at creating distinct voices for his characters without falling into charactures or stereotypes. I feel ready for Christmas now!

Santa Daddy!

This third book in Davey's Rules series by S. Hawke has to be my favourite and I love them all. Michael Pauley, who is one of my all time favourite narrators, does a brilliant job as always of bringing the guys to life!
This is a sweet holiday story and a perfect Daddy/Boy comfort story. Scott takes in a sweet server who happens to be homeless and he helps him get his life together, looking after him just like a proper Daddy should.
Highly recommended for all, especially lovers of Daddy/boy stories.

A Perfect Christmas Gift

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I loved Scott and his generosity with Cameron. They each seemed to be exactly what the other needed. The only difficulty I had with the story was seeing Cameron as a sexual being. The author did such a great job making him appear as a helpless waif that I had trouble seeing him as adult enough to be in a sexual relationship. Still, a very sweet story. I loved the lists of rules. Scott had so many and then Cameron had...one. One that was all he needed. It was perfect!

Excellent narration, with unique voices. Great delivery!

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Great addition to the series!

4 Stars!

Rules for Santa is the third installment in the Davey's Rules series and I suggest reading the books in order for maximum enjoyment.

I loved Cameron and Scott. They just complemented each other so well, and even if this was very slow-burn, it was obvious they belonged together and had great chemistry. There was age gap between them, a big one at that, but I never felt like their age was a problem in their case.

It was great that Davey featured so much in this book, seeing that Scott is his father, because I just love him and can't wait for his book.

This was a very low-angst, engaging book and I loved Michael Pauley's narration, he always brings a lot of emotion to his performance and he made all the characters come to life for me. Very recommendable!

Not so many rules but a sweet sweet Daddy and boy!

In the third instalment of Davey’s Rules the story focuses on Scott - Davey’s father and Cameron, the red headed server that waits on them when Davey and Scott are out for lunch.

What starts off as a rescue turns into more, as Scott gets Cameron to trust him after his past life experiences. Cameron’s story made me really feel for him, especially when we see how he feels about himself - I really wanted to cuddle him (or make sure that his Daddy got to cuddle him). I loved both main characters and the progression of their relationship. All the Santa based innuendos were hilarious and Davey was as diva as always (I’m seriously looking forward to his story, and Jeff’s, and whoever else we can get!). An adorable, sugary sweet Christmas story that proves Christmas miracles can happen, and hallmark movies can come true. The narration of all the characters was good and kept me engaged. I’ll definitely be looking out for the rest of the series!
