Story
Father Hunger is a thoughtful and timely excursion into our culture of fatherlessness, what Wilson calls “the central malady of our time.” Central because it is the cause of so many of the ills we face - everything from atheism and crime to joyless feminism and paternalistic government expansion - but most important because of the effect it has on families, children, wives, and husbands. Bottom line: when fathers are checked out, left out, or ruled out, it hurts literally everyone.

Story
In this short audiobook on childrearing, Douglas Wilson points out that we have a Father who delights in us and makes it easy for us to love and obey him. If that is the kind of Father we have, shouldn't we earthly parents do the same? Wilson explains how parents should not just try to get their kids to obey a set of rules or to make their house so fun that following the rules is always easy. Instead, he calls for parents to instill in their kids a love for God and His standards that will serve them well all their days.

Story
Satire is a kind of preaching. Satire pervades Scripture. Satire treats the foibles of sinners with a less than perfect tenderness. But if a Christian employs satire today, he is almost immediately called to account for his "insensitive" and "unloving" behavior. Yet Scripture shows that the central point of some religious controversies is to give offense. When Christ was confronted with ecclesiastical obstinacy and other forms of arrogance, He showed us a godly pattern for giving offense.

While many of us struggle to understand it, the Trinity is one of the most important teachings of the Christian faith. It defines God's very essence and describes how he relates to us. And while it can be a difficult concept to get our heads around, it is crucial for believers to understand how God explains his triune nature in his word. In this book, James R. White offers a concise, understandable explanation of what the Trinity is and why it matters.

Story
Even though America is fiercely divided between the left and the right and protests are becoming increasingly violent, both sides of the political aisle remain committed to secularism and increasingly to looser standards of sexual propriety. If we want to understand contemporary American culture wars, we must first come to grips with the culture wars of the 19th century. In this book, Douglas Wilson explains how our nation's failure to remove slavery in a biblical fashion has led us to many of the quagmires we find ourselves in.

Story
For the first time in history, the world shut itself down - by choice - all for fear of a virus, COVID-19, that wasn’t well understood. The government, with the support of most Americans, ordered the closure of tens of thousands of small businesses - many never to return. Almost every school and college in the country sent its students home to finish the school year in front of a computer. Churches cancelled worship services. “Social distancing” went from a non-word to a moral obligation overnight.

One rainy day, years ago, a little girl named Lucy discovered that the back of a wardrobe isn't always just the back of a wardrobe. Sometimes, it's a door into another world. In Lucy's case, that other world was called Narnia, and though she was among the first to enter it, she was by no means the last. Millions of children (young and old) have followed her there and met its strange but wonderful inhabitants - Mr. Tumnus, Reepicheep, and Puddleglum, among others.

Modern women - who use psychotherapeutic antidepressants at a rate never before seen in history - need liberating now more than ever. The truth is, feminists don't know what liberation is. They have led us into a very boring dead end. Once those fictionalized stereotypes are out of the way - whether they're things that make you gag or things you think look pretty fun - Christians can focus on real women. What did God make real women for?

Publisher's Summary
In Rules for Reformers, Douglas Wilson poaches the political craft of radical progressives and applies it to Christian efforts in the current culture war. The result is a spicy blend of combat manual and cultural manifesto. Rules for Reformers is a little bit proclamation of grace, a little bit Art of War, and a little bit analysis of past embarrassments and current cowardice, all mixed together with a bunch of advanced knife-fighting techniques. As motivating as it is provocative, Rules for Reformers is just plain good to hear.
Thanks to Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals: A Practical Primer for Realistic Radicals - a book well-beloved by Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and many others - for much of the shrewd advice, and for none of the worldview.

I dont like it
this book comes off as an attempt to "Christianize" Saul Alinsky's book "Rules for Radicals." While there are bits of truth scattered throughout, it was not what I was expecting. This book failed all of my expectations. Based on the title I expected it to be an application of reformed theology in a modern setting. I don't feel I got that. This book feels more like a secular song being used in church where the singers "church it up" to tickle peoples ears.

A walk through fire!
This book has been to me as a walk through fire. And by fire I mean the very kind that we will face as our works are tested to determine if they are wood, hay, straw, or gold, silver, precious stones. It has burned some things out of my life while forging and purifying others. It’s not for the faint of heart but if you are looking for training and instruction for war we believers are in you should listen to this book.

A true arsonist at his best!
"Rules for Reformers" is an extremely helpful guide for the Christian looking to tactically build in these lost and soft times. The Church must again truly believe, repent, and live accordingly. This book is to the point and without decorative icing. It packs a punch and will likely aid in bringing believers to repentance as much as non (it definitely has changed my perspective in many ways). Wilson demonstrates a reformed Christian worldview as it should be; unapologetic, unashamed, and unwavered. A padded room and participation trophy don't stand a lasting chance.

Moscow Gameplan
This is a classic Doug Wilson book: writing a gameplan for Christians who want to take on the culture and establishment unapologetically. Part one covers the strategy (the best part of the book in my opinion) and then part two is really a series of articles on different obstacles and difficulties, all the while pointing to Christ as the reason for doing what we do. The second half is a little less interesting, as it becomes more of Wilson's personal musings than articulated strategy, but it helps get inside his head and his approach to engagement.

Practical Theology
This is a very practical "where the (theological) rubber meets the road" kind of work. While I always love the witty humor and wordsmith skills of Doug Wilson, their use in this work keeps the topic from getting pedantic and overly preachy. This book is the inevitable outworking of a high theology and a spirit led application of of it in time and space. Many of these concepts have been in my own mind for quite some time and it is interesting to see the spirit reaffirm them through this work. Even if you don't agree with every conclusion in the book it sis still a great resource to get you thinking about education, vocation, "cultural engagement", etcetera. ~Tolle Lege

Excellent
Just what I've been looking for over the past few years - a mature, Biblical approach to cultural and political engagement, without the Marxist nonsense. Doug approaches political conservatism with a mature Biblical wisdom, redeeming that which is good and true and important (such as free market capitalism, limited government, and freedom), and rejecting that which is worldly (putting party over Christ, and "secular" conservatism). A great listen, lots of wit and clever humour, although some of the references went over my head. I really appreciate Doug's boldness to speak the truth with a touch of satire, and then to not apologise for it. There's a few small phrases he made which I'd want to clarify with him and perhaps push back on a little bit, but overall this was an excellent book. Really, everything he talks about are things we should all agree on! It combines Biblical theology with Chesterton's wit in Orthodoxy. I long to see more Christians develop this kind of mature approach to true cultural engagement that truly honours Christ.
