Ever been to a doctor who didn't listen? Didn't care? Didn't help?
Here's a thriller to teach those doctors a lesson.
DENT McCREARY is a mess. Dumped by his ex, missing her daughter, and living in a roach-infested apartment, he uses Jack Daniels and Pepto Bismol to get by. It's no way for one of the country's leading FBI profilers to live. But alas, Dent has issues. When a renowned doctor is found dead in a heap in a dryer in Los Angeles, Dent and a rookie partner are brought in to investigate. A few tours in special forces prepared him for the dirty work. It didn't prepare Dent for navigating America's healthcare system to stop a madman from killing doctors coast to coast.
Written with the irreverent wit of Elmore Leonard and Kurt Vonnegut, the mind-bending mystery leads listeners on a wild ride through America's back alleys and country roads to a heart-wrenching conclusion as Dent fights to save the life of the only person he ever really loved.

Rule One hooked me right from the start and honestly didn’t let go until the very end. The action just keeps coming—scene after scene—and it never drags. What really surprised me, though, was how well the characters were written. They’re not just there to move the plot along—you actually get to see them grow, make tough choices, and show sides of themselves you don’t expect. That made all the twists and action sequences hit so much harder, because I cared what happened to them.
If you’re looking for a story that’s fast-paced, exciting, and still gives you characters you can root for (or hate!), this is definitely worth the listen. By the end I was both satisfied and wishing there was more.
What a great debut!
