Publisher's Summary

This Cinderella didn't plan on a prince...

Kat MacTaggart is a girl who has a plan for everything - including her holiday ski trip to Monterra with her best friend. Everything is going according to plan until she finds herself careening out of control down a mountainside and being rescued by a guy who looks like Superman's hotter Italian cousin.

HRH Prince Nico is intrigued by the woman he saved on the slopes and her refusal to date him. He offers Kat a deal - let him show her his country and he'll pay her to write articles that will help Monterra's tourism industry. Kat agrees, but given her past and lingering distrust of men, she has one condition - absolutely no kissing.

Thanks to the claims of a jealous British noblewoman and the schemes of a meddling paparazzo, Kat's rule doesn't seem to be a problem at first. But the more Kat gets to know Nico and the people around him, the harder it is to remember her keep-your-distance plan. Should she stick to it or risk everything for a chance at happily ever after?

I struggled with this book!

I struggled with this book. The leading lady was so whiny and weak. The chemistry was not convincing. The story line was not convincing. I was like reading a fairytale that was not a good read. I hate to write a negative review. It could be because I just listened to Emma Chase's Royally Screwed series.

I only listened to the entire book because I an the type of person who has to finish what I've started.

Very, very sweet story

No surprises in this sweet Cinderella-esque story. Though I am typically drawn to a steamy romance, it is occasionally nice to break from the norm and listen to/read a lovely story sans sexual encounters. Christians would be comfortable with it, and be pleased, as well, with the religious aspect as it is inclusive of morals and the royal family’s devotion to the church. There are a few villains, but only minor angst.

Royal Date is a heartwarming story and so very apropos for the Christmas holidays.

A new Princess Diaries

I really enjoyed the story. Thought that the Narrator made Nico sound a little like Dracula but I was impressed with her abilities overall.

😄💕

This is such a great story. I was really happy to see that it was finally released on Audible. I hope more titles from this author are released on Audible soon.

I have read several of the Royals of Monterra Kindle Worlds stories. Some are almost as good as Ms. Wilson's original works and I am hoping that some are released on Audible as well.

What a beautiful story. I laughed from the beginning of this book. The story was very sweet, romantic and emotional at times.

Fracking Garbage

Seriously, fracking? The protagonist constantly said fracking. It drove me to distraction. Beyond that, she is a generally unlikable character, without substance or rationality. The relationship between her and Prince Nico was juvenile at best. They don't have meaningful conversations that support their relationship or suggest that the two make sense as a couple. I get it, it's a romance book. It was entertaining, I guess -- I mean, I listened to it -- but I found myself scoffing, rolling my eyes, and feeling driven to punch this girl in the face. Maybe it's trivial, but what REALLY threw me over the edge was the ridiculous portrayal of a couple who was obviously meant to be TRH the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Maybe that's unreasonable. But -- there it is -- this is seriously garbage. Predictable, trite, caricatures of people instead of actual humans. Narrator did a nice job, though. Wasn't her fault.

Subtle Profanity undermines an Excellent Story

I always enjoy HEA and when a woman finds her prince, but what I don't like is the use of profanity, even when it is in "urban" vernacular to disguise it. The term "frak" was not necessary (especially multiple times throughout the narrative) and does not bring more dramatic emphasis to the plot nor enhance the story. Other then that, I thoroughly enjoyed the story. The narration was a lovely addition, since I read this book a year ago. Thanks Audible for finally providing the first book in this series in an audiobook.
