He and Nick are about to find out what the real world has to offer and they end up meeting exciting people along the way.

The book starts with Liam Hoffen engaging in a risky tag game with his two best friends. They are all about to graduate and become official Earth Mars Citizens. Liam thinks his future is set, and feels trapped and angry. Little does he know that his destiny is about to take him in a whole new direction. I was engaged all the time I was listening to the audiobook

If you like Space Adventure then this book is for you!

I was recommended this book by a friend and let me just say... What a fun ride! The characters were well thought out and the story was solid. Sure it was a bit over the top at moments but it reminded me a lot of a small mercenary from another series. I am off to get the next audiobook. Keep up the good work.

Great First Book

Really enjoyed this as a first book. It has a great storyline and development of characters. The story introduces us to Liam, Nick, and Tabby. It appears these three are going to be expanded on in the succeeding books. I like the innocence and development into a more "savvy" group. It makes the characters more believable instead of them just being so good at all things that pertain to fighting and gun play. It is a type of "coming of age" and yet it doesn't have a youth feel. These are young adults finding their way in a very different world. There are some substitutes for profanity like "frak" or "shites" so the implication is still there. There are some places where the characters have intimate moments but the description is very PG and not overly graphic. Looking forward to hearing the next in the series.

give it a chance to get passed the high school stuff, and it's surprisingly good. highly recommend!

Fun light read

Almost reminiscent of an early Heinlein. This is book one of a series. Wish there were others or others on Audible.

Mechanically centered space adventure.

Solid, fun story with an eye for describing future technology from the perspective of a mechanically inclined miner.

Casual approach to space travel.

Talks about jumping in the old space ship with no preparation or familiarization let alone actual training. Space is very unforgiving and these yahoos are just going off for a spin around the galaxy.

great hard scifi.

was impressed with over all vision and technical detail. I am Looking forward to reading/listening to rest of series.

Good Start to a Series

I enjoyed the book, but it took me a little while to decide if I wanted to continue. In the beginning, the characters seem very sophomoric in their attitudes. They swear a bunch, but it's some juvenile replacement words for bad language. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one who enjoys a book full of four-letter words, but this just seemed like a silly attempt to swear without swearing.

I decided to finish the book and am glad that I did. The story improved, the characters got a little deeper, and overall, I enjoyed the book. Naramore did a good job with the narration.
