Funny Love Story

I was a little sceptical at first becouse of the cover, bjt this turned out to be a really funny story. Its about Cal; a pritty much failed actor who live in his car when he get a call from his x-lovers lawyer Dewie, who tells him he is now the heir of millions. Cal and Mac had a relationship 15 years ago but when Macs carrere started up he said goodbye to Cal and drove of.
The funniest with this book is Cals determination to get rid of Macs ghost, and Macs attempts to convince Cal they are ment to be together and that he should join him in the after life. The book could probably be better if it had been told from Macs prespective insted of Dewie. The whole plot of the theater group made me a little annoyed, stop plotting and just ask Cal to found you guys. But ofcourse, without them the book would be a little dead.
Still a funny love comedy with not to much drama, and Jason Frazier did a good job with it! Defenately getting more books from him.

Lololol lol 😂😂😂

seriously !I don't know what to write about this book😂😂
I laughed so much.... I was laughing so so hard in thsome moments in the book.
Michael is the most hilarious ghost out there 😂😂😂
the story as a story maybe a little bit weird ...but I did enjoy it. I laughed a lot, and though the book wasn't the most romantic book or the most obvious book... seriously it was like listening to renovating yaoi ! the intimate scene was a yaoi scene !!!!!!!!
it was hilarious ,and disturbing at the same time. but it was good!
I think I it's the same feeling I have while I'm reading yaoi manga.... you enjoy it but you're feeling disturbed and your asking your self w**!!!!! same here I enjoyed the book but I had what the heck moments.
the narrator did a great job I loved his voice quite much.
so overall I'm giving this book 5 stars and I'm taking one star from the story only because two little things that annoyed me but I won't write about them because they would spoiler you...
but the story as an LGBT book was cute and hilarious I'm very nice....
if you like yaoi like I do or did when I was a teenager you will like the story quite much

Ok story, great narration

❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ½

I can honestly say that the cover and the title made me pick up this book; I just couldn’t miss out on it. It cracks me up every time I see it. It fits the story perfectly and is just plain awesome. 👻

Cal Parsons is down on his last bucks, sleeping in his car and desperately looking for ways to set up his new show. Out of the blue he receives a call from a lawyer in New York informing him that his late ex-lover, Mac, has left him his estate. And suddenly things are looking up. Well, at least until he finds out that Mac is not quite as gone as everyone claims. Now, if he could only get rid of him for good, his life would be perfect. But how do you get rid of a ghost intent for you to join him in the afterlife?

I’m in two minds about Mac. On the one hand I absolutely couldn’t stand the man. He was just too creepy, stalkery, self-absorbed and just plain unpleasant in every way imaginable. On the other hand he’s what made the book to what it was, in all his ghostly antics.

Dewey, came across a bit stiff (pun not intended) and boring and I never really warmed to him. I didn’t dislike him per se, but I also didn’t like his plotting for Cal’s money either. I can understand the theatre needing the money, but scheming is not the way to go.

This was my first book narrated by Jason Frazier and he ended up firmly in the win column. He has a wide range of distinct voices and adds a lot of feeling to his narration. I will be happy to listen to more of his narrations in the future.

The Ghost Slept Over is definitely one of a kind. It’s quirky, angst free and at times very convoluted, but it’s all done with a lot of humour and great writing. I had a lot of fun listening to this story about a ghost who really doesn’t like or understand the meaning of boundaries.

Entertaining and Funny!

I wasn't sure what to expect from this audiobook, but it turned out to be a funny and very entertaining story. Cal is a down-on-his luck actor, barely scraping by. His biggest claim to fame is a pornographic film he did long ago...a role he would like to forget. He is surprised by a call from the estate attorney of his recently deceased ex-lover, Mac, whom he hasn't seen since Mac abandoned him 15 years ago. The attorney informs Cal that Mac left him his entire estate. However, it turns out Mac is as selfish in death as he was in life. He shows up as a ghost, professing that Cal is the love of his life and he wants Cal to join him in the after-life...NOW! Not surprisingly, Cal resists the ghost's demands that he take his own life to join him, and proceeds to try to rid himself of the ghost. This might all sound strange or dark. but I promise you, it is played for laughs and is wickedly funny. Throw in the attractive gay attorney who draws Cal's attention, a wannabe biographer, a group of small-stage players, and a town full of quirky gossips, and chaos eventually ensues.

The narration was excellent. Mr. Frazier did a great job of giving the characters distinct voices, and the pacing was smooth and natural.

Such a funny book!

I read Femme by Marshall Thornton before, so I was expecting a hilarious book, especially with the concept of a ghost haunting a person starting a new relationship. I have to say it took some time to get into the story, and it felt like a parody more then a funny romance comedy to be honest.
Cal was a bit of an annoying character, but he redeems himself when he starts bickering with Will the ghost it just got better and better. There was not real maliciousness about Will even if he did wish Cal would just die so can spend eternity together and try to give him a push or two in that direction, ha-ha.

I do feel like I don’t fully understand them, not the ghost, not Cal nor the lawyer, which is why this book is more a parody of sorts then a comedy to me. I feel like without the element of the ghost this book would just be a bit flat. I wanted a bit for emotions between them, is all.

the narration was great! Jason Frazier did an amazing job, he voice is silky seduction and he made sure each character was unique. I especially like the way he narrated the females, he kept the humor meter high and I was laughing throughout the story.

👄👄. Definitely in my repeat listen list

Some days I like a low angst light hearted book and this fit the bill. It even had a couple laugh out loud moments. The storyline kept me interested and I listened in one sitting. If you liked TJ Klune's Tell Me Its Real then i would give it a try. Its not quite that funny but it was still pretty good. I am definitely going to try another one of his books.

When the ex refuses to leave

This was an ok listen. The story was interesting and ends in an hea. There are some explicit sex scenes and a bit of crude language. The narration was good with each character having their own voice.
