CHARLIE DOESN'T PLAY BY THE RULES...

She likes sleeping with men.

Sometimes it's not a choice.

Life hasn't been easy for Charlie. Her mother was a monster. And when Charlie left home, there wasn't always a warm bed, food, or a hot shower.

She figured out how to get by on her looks.

When her mother dies and she comes home to put that part of her life behind her, she finds the diary.

It fills her with rage.

She's out for revenge.

But along the way she meets him.

Ethan DOES play by the rules. And at the top of his list is "Don't get involved with clients." Will he break his rules for Charlie?

🌟🌟 5 Stars 🌟🌟

This is my first book by this author and I'll be honest I only bought it because of the narrators but no matter the reason, this was a great book! I went in blind and I think having no expectations or a clue what it was even about may have made it even better. This story is original which is a HUGE plus for me. Great writing, great characters & great chemistry!

Charlie is a tough chick and she does what she wants when ever she wants. She has some serious baggage and hides it behind her no holds barred attitude. Ethan is mysterious but has a lot of rules he likes to follow. He is a great kind of guy and he is really trying to to what is right but Charlie doesn't make it easy. These two have amazing chemistry and the second part of this book shows just how much Charlie grows in this story and what an awesome guy Ethan is. This book left me feeling happy! Can't wait for the next book (no it's not a cliffy)!

The narration was EXCELLENT! I am a huge fan of Erin Mallon and I have to say this may be the best one yet. I forgot it was her while listening which means she became the characters in my head which is exactly what I want in an audiobook. Jason Clarke is also great, he was perfectly cast with Erin, the two of them really compliment each other well!

Love! All the feels

I love this story! I usually like the dual POV throughout the book so it being part one all Charlie and part two all Ethan wasn’t ideal I didn’t mind it. So much pain and love it is palpable. Can’t wait for the next one!

WHAT A DELICIOUSLY ADDICTIVE TREAT

This is my first Samantha Christy book.. but it definitely won’t be my last because this was phenomenal writing.. and phenomenal narration too. Charlie and Ethan’s rollercoaster romance hit quite a few emotionally torturous road bumps, side swipes and dead ends along their journey to the land of HEA’s but I savoured, I craved and I devoured each addictive chapter.

Charlie and Ethan were emotionally broken by their pasts but Samantha Christy skilfully navigates them through a hurricane of hurt, revenge and pain into much calmer waters. But then she creates a tsunami of feels when she drops a ticking time bomb into the plot that has the potential to devastate, destroy and completely change lives.

Their love story is broken into two Parts - one from Charlie’s POV and then one from Ethan’s POV as the story, and their romance, continues to bump and grind along. While they push and pull, reject and recover and dance with danger their relationship, feelings and footings grow. And, as they slowly get to know each other, there’s sex, passion, some humor and some sadness too because this couple’s closely guarded, pain-filled, heartbreaking backstories are ones of abuse, tragedy and loss.. but their futures.. if they let them, could be filled with joy.

Worth a credit? Absolutely.. and the secondary supportive characters from the Mitchell Sisters series who’ve all met, gone through unknown drama and eventually married their soul mates will be getting my undivided attention next. I just hope the narration was as good as this one.. because it’s as good as it gets.

Female character made it unbearable

I hated her. I feel like she was so self absorbed and co-dependent that it effected my opinion on this book.

Wasn't sure at first...

I'm giving this 4 stars because it took a frustratingly long time to develop in my opinion. There were elements that were a little difficult to swallow in this day and age of the "Me Too" movement. A couple loose ends as well...but those might get tied up in future books of the series.

Once it finally got going it redeemed itself quickly. It was a sweet story, overall. Erin does a superb job as always, and I'm really hoping to see/hear more from Jason Clarke. Superb job as well.

a wild love story

This book had me from page 1.. this was a great listen and kept me intrigued for the entire book. LOVED the characters. My first book by Samantha Christy and I really liked it. I'm looking forward to listening to another one of her books. Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke did a great job on the narration but I always enjoy Erins narration.

Fantastic listen!

Great audiobook, narration was fantastic! The story is great. Loved the angst, chemistry and development of characters. Throw in a twist and some scorching scenes, makes for a satisfying listen... I highly recommend this audiobook.

eh!

I didn't like this audiobook. I haven't ever listened to this author. And won't again. I didn't realize there's a LOT of Triggers in this listen. As in child abuse and spousal abuse. The WHOLE audio book is about dealing with abuse and forgiving. In my opinion, VERY depressing! I was hoping the audio book would of ended at and before the second part. And hoping it would get better...
The narrator's did a good job. The book summary was misleading!!!

Great narration!

Any additional comments?

I wish I’d read The Mitchell Sisters trilogy first. I missed so many of the character and plot references! Aside from that, the story moved well and I enjoyed the relationship progression. Bring on the next Stone Brother!!
