Publisher's Summary

Staring down life as an old maid, newly jilted Clare flees to a country home she's inherited from her grandmother. She doesn't count on clashing with her handsome neighbor, whose gentlemanly manners and education are at odds with his workingman image. As their relationship unfolds, however, she discovers the mysterious Meriweather Holcroft is not at all what he appears to be.

Clean good story & plot.

First time author for me. I wasn't sure of this one in the beginning but stuck with it and really liked it even if it was a "clean romance" I like them a little steamier. Never the lest it was good.
Stevie Zimmerman does one good job of it, too. Haven't been disapointed with her narrations as of yet.

Great book

The story was very good. I enjoyed the characters and love how the author didn't get Lotty get to Claire.

A lot of twists!

Would you listen to Spinster again? Why?

As a rule I don't reread a book or listen more than once to an audio book, but I do think I would give this book a second go.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A welcome state.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this spirited spinster who refuses to let her shameful state define her. She sets out to make her own place in the world with no concessions to society. Her handsome neighbor infuriates her even as she is drawn to him. This spinster was not a vapor fainting female and I enjoyed her story with all of its twists and turns.
