Publisher's Summary

Princess Rozala of Denbourg enjoys her reputation as a wild child, especially when it annoys her father, the king. When Rosa's latest girlfriend brings scandal to the palace doors, her father sends her to Britain, in the hopes that time with her cousin Queen George and the new Queen Consort will finally make her face her responsibilities.

After overcoming personal demons and quitting the high-stakes world of finance, Lennox King is content with keeping her life simple. As the new director of a hospice charity, she uses a strict business approach to help the charity grow and prosper.

When Rosa comes to work at the charity under orders from the Queen Consort, babysitting a spoiled princess is definitely not on Lennox's agenda. But when passion flares between them, will Lennox's past stop their relationship in its tracks, or will a twist of fate bring a new future that neither was expecting?

Great Audio.

I loved Royal Rebel. I re-listened to Royal Romance to remind my self where we were. Excellent follow up story. Great new characters. Excellent narration again by Nicola Victoria Vincent.

Unfortunately felt like I struggled through it

audio books are tricky if narration is off. I tend to listen when i am doing activities which limit my ability to read like working in my yard. I had listened to Royal Romance and I enjoyed the story and the narration. changing the style of speech from proper posh lime the royals and the more common local dialect of Bea's family and friends was great along with Captain Cameron's Scottish accent. So I got this thinking it had the same narrator and to be honest I should still check. the problem is if you listen to Royal Romance then Royal Rebel the characters that are in both novels do not sound the same. Especially, Capt. Cameron and Bea. it was disappointing and distracting.
as far as the story it felt rushed. I like a slower more developed attraction and I just didn't get invested in these two characters. I almost put the book down a few times because i was so disinterested but wanted something to listen to while I worked. plus one scene between George and Bea was so similar to one with Rosala and Lex (tempting someone catching them having sex) I was like "Ok fast forward."
Now if you like some mild gender bending sex where one character feels more themselves in a certain scenario then it might be exactly what you are looking for. Although that is not what I disliked it was I like to get my out of more subtle interactions between characters.
I don't feel like I'm describing well. I just basically didn't feel their connection so it left it feeling dull to me.

Quintessential Romance Novel

Is there anything you would change about this book?

A paperback romance novel you would find in the drug stores 30 years ago. Yes, it's modernized but its the same schmaltz you would find in the books sporting Fabio. I swear even the narrator was rolling her eyes at times. That being said, for what it is, it's absolutely fine. Would I change it? Naw.

Would you be willing to try another book from Jenny Frame? Why or why not?

I don't think so. I'm not into this type of romance novel.

Any additional comments?

Very well performed. A lot of gratuitous sex. A true blue romance novel.

Intense!

I love this narrator much more than the first. The characters were stood apart from each other and did carry some regalness with them. Rosa and Lex are a cute couple, and their struggles were easy to understand. I was so excited to hear more about Georgie and Bee! It was nice to have their lives be tied to this story, and I'd like to hear more about everyone in another book.

Pure Chocolate

Jenny Frame has done it again! I was uncertain that "A Royal Romance" could be topped. Additionally, I was unready to "leave" the beloved couple of George and Bee to explore life with a new "Royal Rebel." Well, I am glad that I did. One might think that such a novel would be pre-ordained or staid. It was not. Though some parts could appear predictable many other surprises were still to be had. I anxiously await any new installments to what I hope will be a long and illustrious line in the Royal Romance series.

amazing story

The only issue I had with this book, was the different narration. from the first book. poor Cam lost her really cool Scottish Acsent.
However this was a very sexy ,romantic exciting ,well written book. I love it more every time I re-read it..
You all need to buy both Royal stories Jenny Frame is amazing.

Should have briefed the narrator

Overall I enjoyed this story and had no problem with Vincent’s narrative skills but with this being a sequel I feel the producers should have made sure she was aware that one of the characters is actually a proud Scottish woman and doesn’t have an upper class English accent as she’s been given in this book of the series. The character doesn’t play a big part in this story but I don’t feel that’s an excuse to forget about a big characteristic of hers.

Pushed boundary of believability a tad

The narration is very good for this audiobook. The story was okay. I found the believability a bit hard to accept at times, and didn't really take to the the characters that well, as its hard to identify with either of them. The Rosa character worked well, I felt the Lennox's past was a bit overplayed, and really from plot perspective I felt a bit underwhelmed as the threat from Rose's ex did not seem immediate. There needed to be more foreshadowing leading to the later event with Rosa's father. But many liked this, so it could just be it wasn't for me.

A great alternative to this - The Princess Affair, by Nell Stark which I think does a better job of allowing the reader *(listener) to identify with the pauper as well as experiencing divide between Royal and peasant more effectively.
