Publisher's Summary

From Marc Levy, the most-read French author alive today, comes a modern-day love story between a famous actress hiding in Paris and a bestselling writer lying to himself. They knew their friendship was going to be complicated, but love - and the City of Lights - just might find a way.

On the big screen, Mia plays a woman in love. But in real life, she's an actress in need of a break from her real-life philandering husband - the megastar who plays her romantic interest in the movies. So she heads across the English Channel to hide in Paris behind a new haircut, fake eyeglasses, and a waitressing job at her best friend's restaurant.

Paul is an American author hoping to recapture the fame of his first novel. When his best friend surreptitiously sets him up with Mia through a dating website, Paul and Mia's relationship status is "complicated."

Even though everything about Paris seems to be nudging them together, the two lonely ex-pats resist, concocting increasingly far-fetched strategies to stay "just friends." A feat easier said than done, as fate has other plans in store. Is true love waiting for them in a postscript?

    "It Counts this time"

This is a delightful book .. at times frustrating with developments that reveal themselves slowly opening layers of delightful characters. Worthy of the time spent on each and the twists of friendships and lives...left with wanting more .....

"Mia and Paul Make a Cute Couple"

I selected this book as my gift from Amazon for August. I loved the story and will reading more by this author. Mia was the main character, a well-known actress, who made movies with her husband. Her husband cheats on her and she gets fed up and takes off to Paris to 'get her head straight.' She is taken in by her best friend for years, Daisy, who owns a restaurant. Mia doesn't know what she should do but she winds up registering on a dating site. the story takes off. She meets Paul Barton, and American novelist living in Paris, and the story wraps itself around your heart and head. It is a love story but with lots of twists and turns. I am so happy that I selected it. It is unpredictable. the characters are well developed and easy to like. It's is funny and sweet. Treat yourself to a new author and sit back and enjoy. The author has written 18 novels so I'd say I can enjoy his words for some time yet. Check him out. Thanks to the translator Sam Taylor for a superb translation; Tim Campbell portrayed the characters with great charm. I loved this book and will be looking for more Marc Levy books.

"Lovely story and great for commuters who need to loose themselves in crummy traffic"

Need I say more than fifteen words required to submit this review? It's a good story and well read. I didn't mind my horrible commute while listening.

    "Don’t waste your credit"

I got up to chapter 6. In that time the author did nothing to make me involved with or care for the characters. I felt no passion for the settings. It was a waste of time.

    "Fun Book - awful Audible"

After a few chapters I decided to just stick to the ebook vs the audio book because the reader was so robot it was ruining the story for me. Once I made the change I was able to enjoy the ebook. But the audio book wasn’t a good fit for me. I found his voice irritating. No offense. I am sure he’s a charming man IRL. He’s like the perfect make for Siri in audio form though.

I'm taking a long journey next week. I'm getting more from this author and calling it good. Winter weather can be warmed by this great book.

    "I love it"

This is a romantic story that has more twists and turns than most boy-gets-girl-boy-loses-girl novels, and gives us a great ride from Paris to Korea. Hard to believe that I finished it in such a short time. I was hooked from the first chapter. I hope you are too.

    "Wow! What a WONDERFUL listen!"

This story started very slow, and I admit I was a bit bored for a while. But it because so darn funny I couldn't stop laughing! I don't laugh out loud often while listening to a book but honestly, I am going to listen again. The hero in the story is just a normal guy whop hasn't a clue what is going on. Paris is also a pleasure, the different nationalities and so on. Really, this tickled me, but you have to work at it at first.
