I am obsessed.

So I stumbled upon this book in first reads and decided eh...why not. Boy was I surprised. I listen to audio books in my car to and from work, and with this book I literally LOL'd CONSTANTLY. People on the road must have thought I was out of my mind.

The story was brilliantly written. The characters were so relatable. The narration was PERFECT and brought everything to life. When it was over I was actually sad...and immediately started looking for more books by the author, and for more books with this same narrator.

READ THIS BOOK. Well...LISTEN to this book. I don't think it's possible to be disappointed, even if this type of read isn't normally your thing.

inspiring Story of growth and perseverance

The narrator was good but cheesy at times causing the story to drag on yet I stayed focused with the story and ended up enjoying myself.

charming story

Digging In is a charming story with a colorful cast of characters. It has enough humor to balance the heaviness of the themes, and somehow remained mostly light-hearted against the backdrop of characters dealing with varying forms of grief. My favorite character is Petra Polly, the supposedly vacuous, new agey author of a book on business wisdom. Chapters from this fictitious book alternate with the plot of the story. I thought this was a creative decision that paid off. The Narrator brought this story to life and I can't imagine experiencing it in any other way.

When all else fails make your own mess

I can't really figure out why I liked this book so much. Perhaps it is because I have also experienced a major life upheaval and then started a vegetable garden in the months before I listened to it. (Although with far less drama.)
I found the protagonist brave, relatable, honest, sometimes clueless, loving - even when frustrated, and real. There are quirky sidekicks, unreasonable antagonists, a wise and generous guide, a bit of a mystery, a little romance, the abject fear we face when our life is suddenly turned upside-down, and the mundane struggles we all face daily. Our heroine survives her journey with varying degrees of grace, humor, pluck, and just plain slogging through.
The book could have ended any number of ways and I was not sure what the resolution would be until the end.
This is not the same old story I have read over and over again, so maybe that is the reason I enjoyed it so much.
I got this one from a daily deal, but I feel it is well worth the regular price.

Great book about living again after loss. It engaged my heart and mind without reducing me to tears.

Very nice story with lots of different clashing characters. Not my usual genre but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the narrator did a fantastic job

Overcoming hard things.

This was a fun and overall good story. It was a little valley girl for me, either the narrator or how it was written? I did enjoy it other than that and it was entertaining.

Lovely story- feel good without the cliche

Easy listening and fun. But the narrators attempt at a British accent is terrible. Luckily that is only applied a little bit in some chapters. Great love able characters.
